Predator Shaft?

A friend of mine traded a gun for a Predator cue, and I don't think it has a predator shaft. I'm not sure what shafts predator makes anymore. The cue has a stainless steel joint, unilock, but the shaft has no collar on it, like a sneaky pete shaft. It also isn't made in pie-shaped pieces....it's a solid maple shaft. Any predator experts have an opinion here?

I think the only Predator shafts that would not have a collar on it would be blanks or those that came with some of their sneaky pete models.. I don't know of any Predator shafts not made from a pie laminate, new or old.

They likely bought a cue where the original owner sold the shaft. A local cuemaker made a unilock LD shaft to match a predator butt but it was a one piece maple LD not laminate.

Thanks. I figured as much. I don't think he traded an expensive gun, so he's not totally screwed.
