break and run. most can win is 90% of pot, so there is something to keep it going the next week. pay by the ball.
top female gets there entry back. if more than 1 tie, 1 game playoff between them.
a bounty, if a handicap tourney. all the best/highest handicaps get put in a hat. 1 is drawn and the bounty is on that player. whoever beats that player in the tourney gets a bounty bonus. (a drink/ $5 or something to make it fun). so hopefully a different bounty player is drawn week to week.
tiered entry. 2's pay their fee. 3's pay a little more, etc.. that way the lower handicaps still may play. that also prevents someone from trying to sneak in as a lower handicap, as all they're doing is screwing the total payout.
2nd chance tourney. the first 8 out, pay a small fee to get another tourney. short rack 8ball moves really fast. rack like 9 ball with 4 of each group and 8 ball. basically a break and run or 2 innings at most. 8 man race to 4 tourney can be done in about an hour if you keep them playing. something like $5 entry winner take all.
