Smile Jim Jordan Cuts to The Nub of It All – “Mr. Volker You Did Your Job” - 11-19-2019, 06:58 PM

by sundance
Representative Jim Jordan does an outstanding job of encapsulating the impeachment fiasco and motives of entrenched administrative bureaucrats who didn’t like the diplomatic approach taken by President Trump and Special Envoy to Ukraine Kurt Volker.

In essence State Dept. officials George Kent and Bill Taylor were butthurt having been cut out of the direct Ukraine policy and diplomacy being organized by State Dept. Special Envoy Kurt Volker. Additionally, U.S. Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch was butthurt about being sidelined and no longer having most influence or access to Ukraine affluence.

Meanwhile, back in Washington DC, Jennifer Williams and Alex Vindman were aghast at President Trump’s direct expectation that Ukraine corruption -writ large- including corrupt officials speaking negatively about the U.S, must cease. Lt. Col. Vindman, believing he alone had control over White House policy toward Ukraine; and with his feelings hurt because he felt smaller; manufactured a false narrative to his sketchy CIA resistance member Eric Ciaramella to construct a false whistle-blower leak.

Meanwhile, after the Trump-Zelensky call, envoy Kurt Volker arranged a series of meetings and diplomatic contacts with President Zelensky and U.S. officials; people he knew that President Trump would later respect their opinion. Upon return to debrief President Trump affirmations of intent were made, and a U.S-Ukraine relationship was restarted under new leadership.

“Mr. Volker you did your job”

Volker sort a changed his mind on a lot of things today.
Sonderland tomorrow.
Will he show?
Will he plead the fifth?
Will he spill his guts. Why be like Roger Stone?
Waiting for Jordan to demean him like he does every witness.

Tomorrow will be a hoot.

As I have said before. Thhere are many that know the truth and can defend the President.
All they have to do is appear, answer their subpoenas. Yeah right.

Why wouldn't Jordan "degrade" these partisan, lying scumbags?

I wish Jordan could go over there and execute a double leg takedown on them and break their joints if they keep lying.

My guess would be that Sondland will choose neither the fifth nor spilingl his guts.

From the testimony of others the content his own direct conversations with Trump appear to have considerable relevance not only to his own potential previous perjury but also to the issue of whether Trump ordered freezing of the release of aid until such time as the Ukraine President agreed to make announcements about two specific investigations.....something which it has yet to be established may or may not be an impeachable offence. Therefore I think he might well try to kill two birds with one stone (no pun intended there lol) by taking the position that he is willing to provide answers to all questions except questions which involve revealing the content of his own direct conversations with the President

I'd guess that he will probably cite legal advice he has received to the effect that the content of those conversations with the President fall under the 'privileged' umbrella or something similar along those lines. If by any chance he hasn't actually received legal advice to that effect or has rejected such advice, he might go down the "I can't recall" route....but I very much doubt hell take the 'fifth' route because that in itself would be perceived as having the side-effect of dropping Trump in it.

Whether the answers he provides to even just those questions which he does decide to answer will be wholly truthful is another matter. His answers might transpire to be the truth this time but his record on that so far isn't very good, so that's a coin toss to my mind.

Mind you it seems my guesses/predictions aren't great at the moment.....backed three horses and two dogs yesterday and they all lost comprehensively. In fact they didn't just lose miserably, between them in 5 races they only managed to finish in front of a grand aggregate total of 3 other runners. Aye, I know...….'don't give up the day job' and all that

Volker basically flipped, singing the praises of Joe Biden thereby debunking the Biden Ukraine connection.
Oh yeah, I forgot. Volker was a witness that the republicans called. Can you say backfire?

It is rumored Sunderland continually reported back to Pompeo on his progress in the whole debunked Ukraine conspiracy theory. Pompeo may be forced to testify along with Guilliani after today's proceedings.

A lot of first hand information yesterday (and more to come today).....not hearsay and second hand info.
How long before Trump says he hardly knows Sonderland?

Things are getting clearer and come more in focus daily.

Meanwhile Barr is flitting around trying to put something substantial on a fiction.
It was Ukraine not Russia in the 2016 election. Riiiight. Looking more silly all of the time even though Putin is enjoying the deflection.

A charge of bribery may be just the start. Follow the money. Trump's tax returns may give us a clue to how deep he was in on the Russia thing.

Boy oh boy. It's really getting interesting.

'No Quid-Pro-Quo, Bribery Or Treason' Testify Volker And Morrison

Updates (EST):

The latest via Breitbart

7:46 P.M. — Morrison once again confirms he didn’t hear anything unlawful during the Trump-Zelensky call.

7:45 P.M. — Morrison confirms each time Sondland told him he had spoken with President Trump, he checked the call logs to see it occurred.

7:40 P.M. — Volker: “Ambassador Sondland is a big personality and sometimes he says things that might be a bit bigger than life.”

7:35 P.M. — Volker on Sondland: “He cared about Ukraine. He wanted to see U.S. support to Ukraine increased.”

7:30 P.M. — Morrison: “I did not understand [investigating the Biden family] as a policy objective.”

Volker and Morrison both say they have no evidence of quid pro quo, bribery or treason https://t.co/xHzl0V73EQ pic.twitter.com/7eCmuCRRF9
— CBS News (@CBSNews) November 20, 2019

***

6:35 p.m. Morrison on Vindman:

Top official Tim Morrison said Alexander Vindman's bosses had a lot of concerns about him:

-Judgement
-Potential leaker
-Did not keep his bosses in the loop on what he was doing
-Went around his bosses' backs
-Was mad he was cut out of working on Ukraine pic.twitter.com/Z9qgSVs9dt
— Ryan Saavedra (@RealSaavedra) November 19, 2019

5:35 p.m. Morrison testifies that he heard nothing wrong on the July 25 Trump-Zelensky call. Wanted access restricted to the transcript over leak concerns.

4:55 p.m. Nunes begins questioning the witnesses, saying that whatever "drug deal" the Democrats are cooking up, the American people aren't buying it.

Nunes: What ever "drug deal" the Democrats are cooking up, the American people don't buy it.

Says TV ratings are way down.
— Olivia Beavers (@Olivia_Beavers) November 19, 2019

4:30 p.m. When asked whether he interpreted President Trump's request to speak with Rudy Giuliani about Ukraine as an order, Volker responds that he understood it to be "part of the dialogue."

4:30 p.m. Volker states his opposition to the Biden investigation, saying "I don’t think that raising the 2016 election or Vice President Biden or these things that I consider to be conspiracy theories circulated by the Ukrainians — they’re not things we should be pursuing as our national security strategy with Ukraine."

Volker thinks that the Burisma investigation was necessary & unremarkable. Hunter Biden was on the board of that corrupt company. He doesn’t seem to have a problem w/ an investigation into Burisma, including presumably Hunter Biden’s role on that board.
— Rep Andy Biggs (@RepAndyBiggsAZ) November 19, 2019

KURT VOLKER on July 10 White House meeting with Ukrainians:

"The meeting was essentially over when SONDLAND made a general comment about investigations. I think all of us thought it was inappropriate ... I do not recall further discussion regarding investigations or Burisma." pic.twitter.com/gaUCcikSFj
— JM Rieger (@RiegerReport) November 19, 2019

4:25 p.m. Morrison says Trump's mention of the Bidens and Crowdstrike during the July 25 call with Zelensky weren't part of his NSC-supplied talking points.

After a morning session of public impeachment testimony from Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman and Russia adviser Jennifer Williams, former National Security Council aide Timothy Morrison and Kurt Volker, Trump’s former special envoy to Ukraine for peace negotiations will appear for testimony.

Morrison listened in on the infamous July 25 phone call between President Trump and Ukraine's newly elected President, Volodomyr Zelensky, in which Trump requested that Ukraine investigate several matters, including Joe and Hunter Biden as well as 2016 US election meddling.

Democrats claim Trump's request constitute election interference, however earlier in the day Vindman told the House Intelligence Committee that it's perfectly acceptable for Presidents to request foreign investigations.

DEMOCRAT: "Would it ever be U.S. policy in your experience to ask a foreign leader to open a political investigation?"

VINDMAN: "There are proper procedures in which to do that. Certainly the President is well within his right to do that." pic.twitter.com/fsn5ioiaZh
— Trump War Room (Text TRUMP to 88022) (@TrumpWarRoom) November 19, 2019

According to a Reuters anonymous source, Volker was central to discussions with Ukraine which would have involved whether the White House withheld US aid in exchange for investigations into gas firm Burisma and the Bidens.

"He knew that Volker and Sondland and Kent were on top of this and were dealing with it on the day to day... His take on this was ... he should let those people do their job."

According to Fox News, a total of nine current and former US officials are set to testify over the next three days in the House's impeachment inquiry.

Looks like Sondland is going to sing like a bird. Not surprising, I mean he really enjoys his life owning boutique hotels. Why would he eff that up?

This is where you car salesmanship comes out in areas you have no understanding and can't possibly fathom. You recently were talking about bribery, you know, right when Pelosi started it. You never mentioned that word in NPR until she did. Nice little parrot you are.

He can debunk Biden all he wants, the evidence all points against Biden and his coke addict son and the millions they took out of the poorest country in Europe. You still don't see any connection at all, it's all above board because folks have said it was "ok" without any investigation into the matter.

Oh, and all the witnesses called by Schiff pretty much confirmed it was a conflict of interest and they had big concerns about it. Yeah, those were your witnesses that said that, but my god, why let a little evidence, video tape and direct witness testimony sway you from what CNN is telling you.

At least pretend to think for yourself, my god.

But keep trying to get up that hill, Little Engine.

You may get something right one of these decades.

in the pages of the 10 transcripts released to the Republicans, the word Bribery is only used once , and is in context to Joe Biden.
That is interesting for sure.
Already the media out here is cherry picking the replies and trying to create a narrative of Trump being guilty of Bribery already.
