A couple of thoughts....

I love how every turning stone we get to see a few new European names that make the trek and perform really well.
This go around is Konrad Juszczyszyn and Mieszko Fortunski are a couple of heavy hitters from Poland and I've never had a chance to see them play live--I'm expecting fireworks from these guys.

Jayson Shaw should be well rested and practiced up (having skipped the world championship in Qatar and the Chinese 8 ball stuff) to beat johnny archers turning stone win record.

Can't believe Shane will actually play, he's been all over the world and just coming in from China. Surely the jet lag will take somewhat of a toll....but he's surprised me before when I thought he would be burned out, he performs his best.

I predict that I will arrive on Friday night and that I will have a grand old time.

At Turning Stone, Jayson Shaw is always the logical choice, but the field is strong and SVB should be right there. Jeremy Sossei seemingly always contends at Turning Stone. I have a hunch John Morra may make a deep run, too.

Finally, Mieszko Fortunski will be worth watching ---- very fine player.

Does Zuglan charge players who are not regulars on the Joss Tour more money compared to regular participating players? Do they take players at the door or is this online registration only?

No, everyone plays the same entry fee. The Turning Stone field is maxed at 128 players and Zuglan always fills the field months in advance.

For Turning Stone, current Joss Tour members pay an entry fee of $150; non-members pay $200.

Note that Tour members had already paid a current-year Tour membership fee ($40, I think).

200 if not a Joss member
150 if you have paid the 40 membership and played a regular stop.

James Aranas is going to make a big showing I expect.

Wow, looks like I dogged this one. I never knew this. Thanks for the correction.

No Mika or Hatch either.

Hatch has been MIA for the last couple of TS events. I heard he moved away from the buffalo area (Chicago I think?) and was working outside of pool.
I could've sworn I saw Mika in a group of players during the opening ceremony to the Chinese 8 ball masters tournament that was just held. So I assumed he wasn't playing this TS classic.
