I had one of those strange practice sessions.
I haven't played much pool at all this year. I've been on the snooker table plenty but my pool cue has been sadly neglected.
I've played a couple of times this week and have in general played awful, I've played some of my worst 9 ball in years. Running racks has been an incredible struggle. I just need to keep reminding myself that the next ball is always two rails away.
So after a couple of hours of embarrassing myself at 9 ball, I decided to switch to 14.1.
After a couple of tries I ran 101. I missed 2 foot straight in shot to side pocket. My head got in the way partially but mostly because I was running late to meet someone and was thinking about that at the time, it's not like you can just stop in the middle of a run!
It's interesting how changing the game can completely alter things. I remember Steve Mizerak once said, always practice whatever game your playing best that day.
