Artistic Engineering - Bruce Kuhn and Jeff Fugal...
They have been doing excellent work for decades.
They are approaching 30 years.. Unreal yea..

I was fortunate to have the opportunity to make a Crown for ivicafranic's AE Cue.

That Blue material is"Light Sensitive", meaning, the angle and the light passing thru the translucent sections make a big difference on how the shape will appear.

White is Arvorin, a brand name for a type of Resin/Poly (?) that, kinda looks like the real thing...
Simulate Grain pattern (side pattern) is too thick/fake.
Cross Section is pretty good, as, they simulate the Shreger Lines pretty good.

Hey JC. You was asking about Arvorin ..
I use it all the time.. All these past posting of my Caps use Arvorin..

Thank You Mr. V. ( ivicafranic on Az )
Thanks for viewing guys..
Alton

Alton,

Thank you for the mention of using Arvorin for this beautiful protector design.
I have long wondered if there was a suitable substitute for using genuine ivory.
Other materials like Juma, Tomahawk, etc. are hit and miss on its appearance.
If Arvorin gets your approval as a substitute, then it could be just what I want.

Arvorin

Hello Matt,,
I worked with mostly all those white Ivory Substitutes
I will do a reply in JC's Post about Arvrin, that JC posted in the "Ask the Cuemaker " section..

I know one thing,,this material has elasticity, and, it does have some brittleness, as, it will crush like stone, but, will "give" if it is thin.
Like, for a solid Joint collar, I tend to believe it will "soften" the hit.
Bottom line, "There's no substitute for the Beauty of Ivory" - Alton

Like Japanese Swords.

"Swords are made for cutting people. It is for this reason, the Sword became beautiful" - Kawachi Kunihira

From Dave Warther's site:
Resin-Ivory™ Top grade Imitation ivory for cue stick joints is the highest quality imitation ivory we have seen, worked or handled - ever.
Arvorin and other alternative ivories are made as a spun polyester but Resin Ivory™ is a resin based material that has greater strength and better properties for cue stick making.
