Those are both beautiful cues. What I was looking for was cues that Davis made himself.
I don’t think there were many. The last time we talked he said that he made around 20 cues. I suspect it was a few more than that.

Maybe there aren’t that many! I know at one time Ribdoner had one, Ray Davies had one, Mr. Sharkie has one. And a few more on AZB. Here’s another one for today.

This cue was a gift from John to me. He made it in collaboration with Tom Prince. It's in my rack of cues at home. It plays nicely. We had 8 years or so of nothing but good feeling business and friendship. There was a laugh somewhere in every conversation we had. I was able to visit him at the shop a few times which was fun.

Beautiful cues Martin, I have a few unfinished Davis cues that Hopefully Tim will finish for me in the near future. The laughs were many in his shop. He was a like able person with a quick whit.( Especially when the Milwaukee’s Best was flowing.) He has a wonderful circle of friends that will truly miss him.

Real john davis blanks !!!

YES, any cues that I have constructed and represented as being made on John Davis Blanks were JOHN'S . . . if this were not such a odd question I could easily be insulted by any suggestion that I would represent other blanks as having made by John. John was a dear personal friend so I find the nature of this concern - asking if I use REAL John Davis blanks very peculiar - in any event the answers is YES I use real John Davis blanks - period!

Here are a few pictures of beautiful cue that John Davis and Tim Prince made for me –
John worked with Burton Spain and made some of the Balabushka blanks.

I had John make the blank from my specs - I wanted him to build a cue that showcased the full-splice construction technique. I convinced him I wanted not one, but three full splices built into the cue. Full spliced blanks are getting rare as manufacturers want to do everything with CNC machining.

Tim Prince did a great job of finishing the cue - highly recommended.

Cue is maple and ebony, veneers and ring work are Titleist colors.
Inlays are Ivory and butt and collar are black horn.

Probably the most amazing cue I’ve ever seen. No bs...

Cash cues are hands down the best of the Davis blanked cues. You never see one for sale, most have never seen their work with Davis blanks. Myron's inlaid ring over full splice and the Brazilian Rosewood 4 pt are just a small showing. There are several Szamboti and Balabushka tributes that rival their subjects!
