It's my opinion. Sorry, I don't believe anybody saying he makes money from online poker. Unless he does something unfair. And I am Not so stupid to believe this Tom Dwan story. This story was created to make people believe in a dream. Also the moneymaker story created by the criminal owners of pokerstars....... The truth is that these scambags you watch on tv playing tournaments, don't play with their money. I don't know if you understand what I am saying. And I don't care if you play online. If it looks good to you then keep doing it.

Just my opinion............

Poker stars signed moneymaker after his big win. he is why poker took off any joe blow could win millions.

Hahaha. I don't even think I've ever someone that aggro. Ya never know!

I saw it on BCP and Pokerhost...but not that often. Usually when someone got stacked once and then just went into tilt mode.

FYI to other members reading this that there are some misconceptions in this thread, be careful on not believing everything you read here! I will leave it at that and am not going to waste the time to debunk some of the garbage posted here...as others have said:

So how do you know any of what you said above is true? I made money playing poker. The IRS tends to agree with me based on how much money I sent them from online winnings...... I would be a real idiot if I sent them a check after losing money online huh? Lots of people I know made quite a bit playing and really got screwed when the DOJ stepped in. I am hopeful it becomes legal again so I can go back to having a second income.

I will have my buddy take a picture of a 10k brick right before he pays his entry to the WSOP main event. I can promise you that is real money.

I would have laughed much harder if you said full ring.

Haha....yeah, I typed it out quick as an example, but yeah FR instead of 6m would have been funnier. I have seen some amazing tilt off (and ensuing comments) online that are priceless. I've even been involved in some cheap $25/$50 AIPF flips for the heck of it (rarely did this but a couple of times for fun). Oh the memories. Stars just had their Sunday Million last Sunday that was 8 million GTD....it had like 46k runners. One of the horses I backed got close to 650th position (I had 10% of that action). I think his cash was close to $1k for that spot...so close to a good score on that one!

Well, it's not an opinion that Full Tilt and Ultimate Bet (The two largest on-line poker sites) were fixed games designed to rip off the players for the profit of criminals. And rip them off they did.

What makes you believe that new poker sites will be any different?

I wasn't referring to that part of his post(s). Please do not put words in my mouth as he said other things that were off base. I am not arguing and never even mentioned that I don't believe Full Tilt and UB did those things.

Listen guys, you play at your own risk. Don't deposit anything you can't afford to lose. You may win some money, but most people lose money....there is my parental guidance for a Friday. I have cashed out thousands throughout the last few years (I live in the US) so um yeah it's sort of legit.

There is nothing legit about it...

I'm glad you were able to make some money, but in no way does that extrapolate into on-line poker is not a fixed game.

It is a fixed game, you are just not a victim, yet.

Many others have been victims, and some have been robbed for over a million dollars.

By all means do as you like, but it is not an opinion that on-line poker sites, and I'm talking the biggest of them, have been proven to be criminal operations in the past.

That is a fact.

Good luck

Until you or anyone else can prove this statement...it is just an opinion. Some people try to post that online poker is rigged but 0 people have been able to prove it when asked. They show hands they lost to, or graphs where they are so far below EV...and then regs point them out to many leaks in their game which is the real reason they are losing.

On the flip side of course in terms of the math/stats etc, I am unable to prove it is not fixed unfortunately. My only argument that it isn't fixed is the winning players who are just random people that win money...the guys who really work hard and study and become better at the game (just like any game). These same guys also lose some money.

In a sense if you really want to talk semantics there are proven BOTs that have been outed and banned. That may be your only argument that I can see that has been proven...which is on the players side (program), not the random card generator....not sure if that makes sense or not and like I said...just my opinion.

Edit to add....if you are referring to fixed game as in the sites getting shut down that you spoke of for corrupt dealings with financial stuff...sure I would agree in those two instances. Pokerstars (to this day) as far as I know was not ever on this list that you are talking about. They just removed it so that US players can't play anymore.

This is my last post on it since this is not pool related...sorry guys.

This will be my last post here as well, there is really nothing else to be said.

You are just flat out incorrect when you say no one can prove on-line sites are criminal, and that the games are fixed.

This absolutely has been proven in regards to Ultimate Bet and Full Tilt, there may be others that I'm not aware of.

This is not even up for debate, you need to learn more about what has really happened here.

Bottom line, it HAS been proven that both of these sites were criminal operations, and that the games were fixed .. again, that is a fact.

The proof you are asking for has already been established and is public information.

Pool is far more fun anyway ... thank goodness they will never be able to figure out how to play it on the internet. ... LOL

There are three in the US right now, but they are only usable if you're in Nevada:

Ultimate Poker: https://ultimatepoker.com/
WSOP: http://www.wsop.com/
Real Gaming: https://realgaming.com/

There are a couple of small ones that are located in other countries and fly under the radar because the Feds don't think it's worth it to do anything about it.

Bovada is also open.

Cash games are a little nitty, but the tournaments are pretty good. They have an $11 every night. 5k starting stack and usually around $1,500 for 1st.

So I will thread drift. People both made and lost money playing on line.

If it were that much of a scam, no one would have made anything.

Still catching up on DeadWood Keone. That has to be one the thee best series ever, next to SOA.

Super Natural and Walking Dead are running close but no ceegar.

Amazing how many actors went over and got roles in SOA.

Glad you like it Blue. Paris Barclay who is the Executive Producer on SOA got his break from David Milch on NYPD Blue. David was the creator of that and the creator of Deadwood. So naturally Paris is happy to work with the crew from Deadwood.

I have dabbed in online poker here and there, I prefer live games though but it is good for those who do not have a casino down the street. The problem is there were trap games on some online sites along with money being taken from players accounts, these are facts. I think with the examples being made and people being caught it will deter this stuff in the future because they will have too much to lose and realize they can get caught. Happy betting!
