I see Jeff Kennedy is prevailing over some marquee names: McCready, Davenport, Feijen, etc. Who IS this guy?!

He is from Canada, from what I heard on the rail, and won a championship or two in his region. He is a very strong player.

When Keith pulled him on the winners' side, I had no idea what to expect, not ever having heard of Jeff Kennedy in my travels. Keith did make a few mistakes during the match. He was struggling with his cue tip and could not execute a few shots because his newly installed tip had mushroomed. It was a tight match, and Jeff ended up the victor, knocking Keith to the losers' brackets.

Jeff was very focused and was seasoned. Though I had not heard of him, he was comfortable in the pit and played his game, and he did have a great tournament this week. I'll sure know who he is if and when there is a next time I see him on the tournament trail. That's for sure. :p

He's a very underrated player that kind of stays under the radar, but definitely a force to be reckoned with.

Well I can give you some information, seeing that he's from my hometown. Jeff started playing when he was like 5 or 6 years old, playing snooker. He was so small at the time that they made some custom stilts for him so he could reach the balls. He has won numerous provincial (same as state) title in snooker, 8 ball and nineball. He is a very focused shooter and his confidence and game are starting to go to another level. He has played in 2 WPC's with some very respectable wins. Jeff also owns a poolhall here in town, probably the best one here. Well kept 4 1/2 x 9 tables. So if you ever in Saint John stop by JK's Corner Pocket, great hall, great staff.

Keep your eye out for him, its not the last you will be hearing from him. ;)

Watch out. He plays without flair, medium stroke and solid position. Anyone watching him would probably say he is a good basic player. Very unsuspecting. You just do not notice him at first, wonder what he is doing there and then by surprise your drawn to his keen ability to play. What a player and what a great pleasure to watch.

Jeff is a great guy. I travelled home with him from grands Falls after the Festivle de Billiards. He lost to Dany Hewitt by a score of 13-11. He has had some great recent finishes around our region. He is a terrific guy and has a hell of a game. Great finish Jeff.

Thanks for the info re Jeff K. I asked Tommy Kennedy (no relation) about him this weekend. He knows him, and rates him as a top player. It must be tough owning a room and trying to compete as well. Looks like we'll be seeing a lot more of him, though!

Heh, welcome to the board. I got to watch you play around Canada a few times and I must say you are one of the most solid players in the country for sure. Sucks that there is not more large tournaments in the West that could see you matching up with the players out on this side of the country more often. Was cool to see ya playing (and winning) in the Great White/SML tournament in 2003.

Hey Jeff. It really was a pleasure to watch you play. I have never seen you before. What a beautiful and steady game you have.

How did you like the equipment?

Congratulations on a great tournament.
I'll admit that I rooted against you in one match but that is only because Shorty D'Alfonso is from Boston. Otherwise I was very impressed with your game and best of luck in the future.

It's me again, JK. My last post just said thanks to my Canadian support, I can see now that I forgot about big brother, the U.S.A., how could I do that, sorry guys.
To Pete, of your description of my playing I found myself saying thank you out loud, as a snooker player who fell in love with 9-ball there were a lot of changes that I had difficulty with over the years, the big ones were stance, stroke, bridge, and the break! Nothing real important, ehh! ( I had to throw an ehh in there, ehh...lol). The equipment was top notch, the tight pockets, good balls, and cloth, really forces you to play well, Mike Zugland did an excellant job with the tournament, equipment, and venue.

To Koop, I think I have a pretty good idea of who you are, and no worries, about cheering against me, gotta support the hometown boys, by the way I love Fenway Park, it's gotta be the best place to watch a ball game, especially when the Yankees are in town, I had the chance to watch Clemens pitch his first game back in Fenway as a Yankee, it was a lot of fun.

To Celtic, I will be in Calgary in Nov. 19-20 at Stixx Billiards for The Canadian Falcon 9-ball tour, Jim Wych, an Alberta boy, has been doing a lot of work with this tour and has set-up 5 stops this year with 2 being slated for Calgary, the first in Nov. and the second in April. I am a big Flames fan too, we had their farm team in my home town for several years, and even won a Calder Cup. Look out for the Flames this year in the NHL, they are going to be a strong team... I hope. Anyway gotta run and do some real work, that sucks, much prefer the pool-playing and golfing. :D See ya all later, and remember to "strok'em straight"!

Hey Jeff,

Happy to hear you understand but it was the only match I watched you play that I rooted against you. I was definitely pulling for you in the match against Neils.
Fenway park is an absolute landmark and a park I think any baseball fan should experience at least once. You picked a good one :)
Hope to see you again and I will make sure to say hi next time.

Diana Hoppe took so many GREAT pictures of the Joss Tour Season Finale at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino. Here is one that -- I think -- is Jeff Kennedy a/k/a the Sundance Kid! :)

Check out how he gets down on the ball and utilizes the cross-over bridge!
