Why some professional players look at cue before they shot ? What is the point?

Could you give a video example?

Like do they look down and across at there cue as they hold it?, or do they line it up in front of them over the shot line?

They look at their cue before they get down or when they're down on the shot? Need a better description or video

They probably use this as a mental trigger.

Some mental triggers are putting the cue together, picking up the chalk or looking at the cue.

Triggers are used to get the mind ready to be totally focused on what they are about to do. Helps to get them in the zone more quickly.

One example: (or watch the whole series)

Have fun.
