Is it possible to do this and if so, which is the best and safest method without damaging the cloth?

Thank you.

Do you mean the little dents that cause a loose rack or the light discoloration in the rack area? If it is the little dents you speak of I rub the bottom of a flat wide drinking glass on my rack area, racks like a dream after I do this.

Air. It really works good. Try it sometime if you have a table where the balls roll all over when you lift the rack. It even lifts up the huge dent from the head ball on the Valleys with 10 year cloth. it must be the heat generated is all i can figure.
