What's considered thin, as far as handles go?

Absolutely love this cue.

I have a Jensen I bought for my girlfriend before she had a custom made for her from Darrin Hill, and I always thought the handle was super slim. I REALLY like it as far as size goes.

I did some searching and in all the butt size threads people said Jensen's were "traditional" and actually above average/fatter ?????

I know my Tibbitts is a tree trunk. I wish it were as thin as this cue, but if I hold this behind the Tibbitts you wouldn't see any part of the Jensen, it's that different in size.

The thin butt topics said Sugartrees were thinner butts, but I just didn't feel that way. Maybe I've only had super fat asses in my life, or this Jensen was ordered slim and others are fat.

Anyways, I'm measuring at the top of the wrap, middle of the wrap, and bottom of the wrap. Is this thin or thick?

Jensen

Top: 1.016
Middle: 1.0875
Bottom: 1.194

For those who care I'll post the Tibbitts, too.

Tibbitts

Top: 1.0855
Middle: 1.1480
Bottom: 1.2315

For fun, who makes the smallest butts you've heard of or seen?

1.194 at the bottom of the wrap is average these days.
Pretty steep taper though at 1.016 on the top.
I'm going to guess the most common taper these days is a straight taper from joint to bottom.
.840" at the joint snd aroung .014" to .0145" taper per inch.

I don't go over 1.250 at the bottom . Not less than 1.225 either.
But, I keep the top of the handle fat no mattter what.
That has very litle to do with the size at the bottom.

Sure you got the measurement right?...1.23 at the cap is NOT a tree trunk to me... Szams are right around 1.28. Tasc around the same. Bushkas hit 1.3 and over... I LOVE the bigger caps... 1.28 to 1.3 is my fav (840 joint)... Anything less than 1.25 is just too thin to me... I had a Bushka that was 1.38.. That cue hit a TON! Joint was only 820 though. Just shy of the 80's SW's at 830...

1.230 at the bottom of the handle is fat .
That putts the bottom at around 1.300" ( .0145" x 5 inches pluse 1.230 ).

I saw a Dustin Yorksie cue one time that was probably .825 at the joint and no more than 1.125 at the butt cap. Tommy D.

Yes. Ok. I just re-read OPs post saying "bottom of the wrap". I thought he said bottom of the "cap".... I prefer my personal playing cues at the CAP end to be 1.28 to 1.3..

Keith's cues are right around 1.2 - 1.21 at the bottom of the wrap...

small?

Small butts. I guess any cue maker can make a small butt. I build what the
player feels comfortable with. I personally play with a 1.12" diameter at the
bottom. It's on the extreme side but it feels good to me. And I have small
hands.

I have a Hagan cue coming in today that you would probably love. I will take measurements when I pick it up. Bill Hagan was known for having slimmer butt sections on his cues. They hit really solid though.

Close to moochi butt, but laminated butt. It's hard to see the seams though.

The first two did, don't know for sure about the newest one. I might have to change the ferrules back to antler though, since they were replaced to a more modern material during a refinish. It's the one that bcm did
