with apologies ...

I don't know the model number, but that particular Zero, flew in New Zealand at Warbirds over Wanaka. It is an American owned craft, and one of only a few in the world that is still air worthy.
Sadly I did not get down to that event to see it in person. It was a long way ahead with aluminum technology far ahead of the USA in 1941. A captured one, led to the Alcoa company in Pittsburgh developing alloy 7075 and others as well.

Here is a video, to hear what they sounded like.

this is not the one pictured in this thread.

Apologies for going on topic for a moment:

I have a piece of 7075 I was going to make some ferrules out of. Wanted to make a cue using 7075 for the ferrule, pin, joint collar, even a very short butt cap. 6061 is pretty awesome and I understand the 7075 is a step up from it.

The mailman

I bought a business in Alexandria and moved the hundred and twenty-five miles. The guy doing mechanic work at my business was a wee bit gullible, maybe two bits gullible.

I told him I always trusted my wife until I moved from Baton Rouge to Alexandria and still had the same mailman!

"Reeaally Buddy?" He wasn't at all sure I was joking!
