Please help to identify my table model.
This is what was known as a convertable table.
It was able to have pockets removed and billiard rails added.
Is there anybody that has a set of billiard rails for this table for sale?
Any info about model would be appreciated. I did go on Brunswick web site but nothing matches.
Does anybody know of anybody with the same model. Am I the owner of a one of a kind table?
Thanks
Bill

Is there some feature that makes it different from other T-rail tables?

What i mean is, you can certainly take the rails off by unscrewing the T bolts. & presumably replace the rails with non-pocket rails so long as the slate cut-outs are covered by the rails or nearly so. Does this table have a faster more convenient means to effect the change?

I have never seen rails for it or a table that was interchangeable. The width of the rails will cover far enough out of the table edges that pocket drop off of the slate won't effect roll of billiard ball along the rails or in and out of the corners. thanks

I also think the table to be converted should be a ball return. I say this because the drop pockets have pieces of the net stappled to the table. This would mean that rails would be unbolted but still hanging. I doubt that is the intended way.
When the table was apart there are rounded cut outs below pockets for a ball return system.none of the system came with the table.
I think it also probably had different pocket design to accept balls and bring them into the return system. This would allow pocket basket to be removed with rails for storage.

If anyone had a convertable table I would appreciate pictures of rails on and the other set of rails off, and any insight on rail change out.thank you for helping.

I have a T-rail table and have mused about making billiard rails for it. OTOH I have got bogged down working on the house/room to put it in and made very little progress on the restoration even to pocket, so don't have much ground to stand on, other than to say i have looked into the possibility.

Friend of mine in Ithaca has a 5 x 10 convertible with 1-1/2" slate in his basement. I have seen the table when installing an unrelated project for him, but have not studied it. Saving that for when i can get back to mine. Edited: PS, IIRC Geoff installed & covered friend's table. (bradsh98) Maybe he remembers and will chime in. Photos below are of eBay table.

Here is some actual substantive clues.
Apparently the convertibles bolt up through the slate (like much later GC's!) possibly with some sort of quick connect bolt or T-head bolt into a special nut-plate. Maybe the advertiser would send you some photos?

Hello SMT,

The table that you referenced was a Gold Crown I. It now has the standard 1" slate (after replacing the original Brunstone). Not exactly a convertible, in the way that we typically think of it. It was originally a billiard table. I converted it to a pocket table. To do so, I cut pockets into the Brunstone, and cut the billiard rails into pocket rails. Because of that, it is now no more convertible than any other Gold Crown.

OOPS!
Can only say i had muddy boots on from installing his sign, and was avoiding walking through the carpeted section, looking through the door where Vince was pointing. I thought he told me it was a much older table, am certain he originally told me it was convertible (before you installed it). I know he told me it had 1-1/2" thick surface.

Sorry for the misinformation.

EBay ad could be informative if the guy can take more complete photos.
