things to know before order,
1. the Arvorin grain as ivory substitute material, is not symmetric and not consistent, one face is coarse grain, the obverse face is fine/none grain

2. Arvorin have 0.05" thickness wrapped slurry outside, after cut off the skin of the material & polish, you will just find the beautiful looking as same as the photo on listing.

3. make sure you have a sharp tool/cutter when you work on Arvorin.

4. control the machining speed of your router/cutter in medium speed or under medium

5. It's resin based material, overheat will make arvorin turn to be soft. when machining arvorin, use some coolant to keep the material temperature not get too hot,

Looks like nice material

If the price ever comes down I would be interested

I just feel for maybe a few dollars more ivory would just suffice

You aren't going to get a 30cm long, 15mm diameter ivory rod for $13...

I got a reply from 1 cue maker who test the sample, he use a word - " it's 'SCARY' close to real ivory".

I have no idea what a real ivory looks like. but if it's ture, hope it won't be an issue for custom during transport. lol

Ivory does not ribbon when tapped though. The chips crumble b/c they are hard.

Arvorin

It ribbons when facing or rough cutting with a sharp tool.
I'll cut some with tap and share the photo.

If this material is produced in and shipped directly from China then I agree it's pretty pricey. Browse E bay and see what you can get including shipping for various things to grasp the economy of it. You can buy entire cues for the cost of a few of these rods. Nothing wrong with asking for what the market will bear though.
