Good afternoon, everyone.

What are your favourite pool player nicknames? Here are three from my own personal acquaintances in England.

Jimmy Fingers. He only has eight fingers, four on his left and four on his right.

Worm. He actually does resemble a worm. Very tall, very thin and very pink.

Jelly Baby. I'm unsure if you have jelly babies in America? They're sweets and Jelly Baby looks just like one of his namesakes.

Haha...he was one of my best friends, tragically he died some time back from surgery complications. His original nickname was "Rat Bastard" but he got upgraded!

Long time ago we had a guy in our circles known as Frank the Hustler...
...then a newcomer we called English Ralph upgraded that name to F the H...

Nick Varner likes to tell this story....
...at his father’s room in Owensboro, one of the better players was known as Cornflakes.
....well, Cornbread Red drove down from Detroit and massacred him.

A few months later, Cornbread makes another visit...a guy sees him walk in ....sez...
..”There’s that Cereal Killer!”

built in Nick-Name - Chris Blewitt .
How would you like to be a kicker with the last name Blewitt ?

Nicknames

Years ago, we nicknamed a guy "fingers". He used an open bridge, the cue resting between the index and middle fingers where they joined his palm. His fingers were twisted all up underneath, looked like an arthritis victim. Not a great player as you can imagine.

Years ago there was a young kid that started coming to the pool room. He was 14 at the time. I would practice with him a lot. I called him Kid Rack because I made him rack a lot.

Freddie the Beard Without the Beard. Really, people actually called him all that!

Down and Dirty Red. That was one of Preacher Red's other nicknames.

The One Armed Bandit. Ernest Morgan or Nubby to his friends.

Little Hand actually had one normal hand and one very little hand. Lewis Bramlett.

The Velvet Foghorn. Johnny Ervolino. His whisper could be heard across the poolroom.

Keither With the Ether. Keith McCready put his opponents to sleep.

Pots and Pans. Bunny Rogoff was a great salesman of fake ovenware on the side.

Superstitious Aloyisus. Al Miller was supposedly very superstitious.

Crying Sam. Sam ? from Oklahoma would break down in tears if he lost his money, and he was a big guy.

Bionic Jonic. Frank Jonic and I don't know the origin of that name.

"Machine Gun Lou" Butera. He shot you down fast!

"Son of a Gun" Sal Butera. More of the same.
