I'm just here to say I love what Dean bring to this sport and AZ. :D

Dean, if someone attempts it, I'll pay you $20 to come over and watch.

So you love BS?

I like old school guys out there willing to put money on the line at all, and a chunk of it at that. I think the terms are a little too tough in this instance, but still, there aren't a lot of people out there putting up challenges right now.

it seems that most people here think that the odds are too high
or the $1000 is too much
if i made it $5 to try and paid $5000 i bet we would have some takers

since my average is less than 1 rack i wouldn't try at all

what number will you shoot at,or how much would you pay for a chance to run 600 balls

An interesting bet would be: Any three players put-up "x" amount of dollars and get one turn each, shooting back-to-back-to-back, trying to beat 626 combined?

Well, Dean ...... put together a REAL Challenge with defined parameters and rules including getting that table of yours with those 5.25 inch pockets you “wish for” and a verifiable escrow account you can offer as proof and you’ll see people doing more than just talking. Half of the rights going to the shooter I assume since you’re a fair businessman.

The only diff between a wish and reality is money and time. So a guy with 100k to post up for a chance bet should be able to make that pocket dream a reality by this coming Monday

BTW, you go from 627 to 600 to Willie’s 526 record and then back to mentioning 600. Which is it, sir?

How about qualifier run attempts for less and smaller pots....$100 for 100 run. $50 for a 50.

How do you define an "attempt" Is it one day, one week, one month at a time like John did? I think that 30 consecutive days defining an "attempt" would be a fair offer - I don't know why some of the top pros would not accept that challenge. It might be easy for some of them to find a backer for this attempt at a 50/50 split on the $100K.

I don't know how i missed this post.

Going by your ID, i dont have to ask but, for some reason i cant not ask so, what possessed you to think that anyone would invest enough to keep a top pro out of play for "at least" months on end for what would most definitely, not be worth it "money wise"?

Sure, i could see some super rich person saying:

Here you go, stay as long as it takes cause i want to see it happen and the MONEY doesn't matter. I just want the record broken.

Just dont make sense....at all.

To even attempt this, one would have to believe that the odds of them running 626 balls is better than 100:1....So, who here, with the exception of John Schmidt, has ever run 626...or even close to it? No one. And, how many tries did it actually take for John to do it, and that's counting every time he has ever played a game of straight pool? I'd guess that in his entire life he played thousands of straight pool innings without coming close to having an average of even 100, and I seriously doubt that John would even consider accepting this challenge.

I think that deanoc is just having some fun stirring the pot. :) Carry on.

mosconi record stands for 65 years ,
mizerak , sigel ,hopkins , varner , rempe etc. , they all tried to break it in practice .
believe me!
as a straight pool player you chase your own personal record all your life .
theres no one out there who think : " i can break it " thats all speculations .

626 is forever !

keep in stroke everybody...

I'm going to offer $1 Million @ $1.79 per attempt to break 2 hours in a marathon. It must however be done in the form of 4681.6 laps around my Gold Crown.

i told my wife i was going to risk $100,000 against a possible $1000

she said we can lose $100,000 or win a lousy $1,000

"you must be crazy"

which one of you would like to risk $100,000 to win $100 ? It doesn't sound too
profitable to me

no tricks,no gimmicks,excellent playing conditions,standard pool table
best cloth

i ,myself have always been a sucker for big odds, say 1000 to 1

my thinking is what if i lose $1,000 life goes on
but if i win $100,000, now that is a life changer if i am a pool player

now if you only have a few hundred to risk, win $10,000 for every $100 you bet

in fact I will let you guys shoot at Mosconi's old record

again no gimmicks,no funky table,or odd ball rules

i could even put up a challenge style table like at the derby

don't get me wrong,i am trying to win,but aren't we all

A life changer if you are a pool player !!!! Come on man just watch Billy beat Efren and let pool players be pool players . Pool is always gonna be pool. Are you driving 4 hrs from Dallas to watch your hero play ? I think not but let pool players do what they do they are grinding . Watch them grind , don't drive 4 hrs to Monroe like I did last night just watch it and talk about it! 4 hrs !!!!!
