Not to be confused with the smaller Japan Open, this very old event (probably oldest annual pool event of this size in world) used to be 9 ball for Men but switched to 10 ball earlier this decade (Women's event still 9 ball). Less prestigious than before but still attracts all the top Asians. Some top Euros and Shane used to play in past but this year main Euro representation Thorsten, Mika
Field includes 7x800s (6 in top 10 Fargo) but only about 14 Top 50 Fargo

Raphael won his first match 9-8 over Toshiyuki Haraguchi. He plays Sharik Sayed next.

Talking Big scorelines - 11-20-2019, 04:15 AM

Wow, big scorelines (9-0 ,9-1,9-2, 9-3) because it is winner break and also weaker opponents at this early stage
Already quite a few blowouts 9-0 by these
Jeff deluna
Kuribayashi
Big Ko
Aloysius Yap

Notables through to Single Elimination (Last 64)
Little Ko
Mika
Tomoo Takano (defending champ)
Anton Raga
Wu
Jeff Ignacio
Biado
Dang Jin Hu
Antonio Lining
Wu Kun Lin

Sole American , Raphael Dabreo also through

Kevin Cheng playing veteran ex-World 9 ball champ, Kunihiko Takahashi in winners side 2nd round. Winner qualify for single elimination stage

This is one of my favorite events.
Get to see alot of asian and middle eastern
players that don't travel much.
10 ball
Green cloth
Winner breaks
Rack glued to the cloth to speed it up
No unnecessary commentary

The Japanese, they get me.

This is the best tournament Iíve seen ďto learn the gameĒ.

-Fixed camera angle so you see the layout.
-good pic quality
-No commentary to distract
-sound of balls and play.
-top level players

This is the way to learn pattern play IMO.

I notice very few Japanese players winning matches. The Chinese and Filipinos are the dominant players in this field.

Itís a classic case of the locals meeting the road players...bet on the road players.

Iíve always liked Takahashiís game...but it has slipped a lot.

Lionize your game.
