Hustling 101 spimp style - 01-27-2014, 08:14 AM

So last night I decided to go to help my wife warm up for league at my townie bar that is one of my favorite places to kick it....one of my marks was there playing the earlier APA. After I got done helping the wife warm up my mark, a couple of other buddies, and myself decided to play some scotch doubles 8 ball....the pepsis were flowing to which everyone plays 4-5 balls better after some drinks...so that being said my mark was feeling frisky and wanted to play a league race for $100 5-3 (me spotting him 2 games on the wire). I normally snap jump on it, however I would prefer to play on diamonds instead of these bucket Valley tables.

I countered with telling him we could set it up and play 3 sets of that at Big Dogs on the Diamonds...buuuut if you really want to play tonight we can play bank pool race to 3 for $100. One of my buddies and myself sort of egged him on to which finally he aggreed. I told him to post (based on past history with him to which my boy MikeyFrost knows how this could go)...he pulls out a wad of cash and slams it on the table...counts out only $60 lol (made it seem like plenty of cheese)...so he got the extra dough at the bar, we posted there with one of my favorite bartenders and ACTION.

I laid the lemon and still won 3-0. He asked to play 1 game of 8 ball double or nothing...I got the look from the wife so I declined it and told him "I promise you we will play this game again another time." I tipped the bar $20 for being the bag man (and table time), went home, snapped a victory picture...

Questions...comments....concerns?? I may be getting older at the age of 34...but I still got it.

He wins fagina comment of the night....his fiance was on her way to the bar in the middle of the set to which he asked me to "not tell her we are playing for money" lol...I was polite and didn't say a word...not sure if she noticed the coin moving every time a bank was made hmmm....happy Monday.

LOL!! That is actually a thai sauce the wifey uses on one of the shrimp recipes she does. KK9 no gangsta on Sundays...

I also gotta apologize for the larger than normal picture...usually when I attach pictures they are smaller/normal size...sheesh.

I assume he is aware that he was outplayed in banks. Did you attempt to adjust on something else or just declined the race to 1 in 8ball and told him you'd play banks with him again sometime?

Also with a 5-3 league race (assuming your skill levels are accurate, SL5 vs SL7) and him wanting to play that race to 1 for another 100 plus you playing that 1 rack with his money, why the hell wouldnt you do that? (Other then the wife saying "no" which it is always a good idea to listen to the wife... which is also why I go to the poolhall without mine )

Negative....all my action is my cheese, not hers. Yes we are married so what's mine is hers...but not in regards to my action!

Well to an extent I am sure he knew it a bit. I also bet he had no idea the dump was on (while still planning to win). He has the ability to win a rack in 8 ball so I didn't want to do the double or nothing on one game just in case there was a bad roll/luck issue. I earned the 3 game win, no need to push it for the night. I was there for her league to help warm her up/hangout so my whole intention for the night wasn't to gamble. I was content with winning the $100 as well as guaranteeing that I would play him the same game again another night.

I did not try to adjust anything...I did mention I would play him again another set to 3 that same night because I never quit winner (always will give a chance for them to win the money back unless we both agreed to a time limit beforehand). I did get in the hole intentionally twice to try to match him getting in the hole early on in 2 games...it was sort of funny (but brutal to watch I am sure).

Ah ok... cause the way you wrote it it sounds like you just quit a winner at a game you knew you were a lock in... and then told him you would play him that same game... after beating him 3-0 while laying down.

My writing style is not the best sorry...I offered to play another set of what we just did to which he tried to counter with the one game 8 ball $100. I declined...he said we would play again on the bank game to which I told him I promised we would play again. I like free monies .

I definitely have NEVER played 1 set of anything and quit after being up! I don't roll like that.

That's it, I accept the fact that I may need a spot. You going back somewhere sunny to live it up?
