Hey i got my eye on an 1964 Brunswick celebrity or a newer Brunswick contender. What are your thoughts on how they play comapred to a GC? I am also wondering about any issues/recommendations you may have on these models. Thanks ahead of time.

neither one belong in the same conversation as a Gold Crown. The Celebrity does not have a slate playing surface, and the Contender has slate, but is pretty thin. I would definitely rather have a Contender.

Ok well i'll probably be getting the Contender by Brunswick i believe it is the ''Genesis'' model. Anyone got info on this model? It is not currently listed on their website, any info would be appreciated. One day when I retire I'll upgrade to a GC or Diamond.

If you are patient, you will find a better table than what you are looking at for a great price. My advise is to keep watching craigslist ads for a while within a reasonable radius of where you live. I practically get to steal some great tables on a regular basis. I just picked up an 8' Centennial in great shape for $1200 from a craigslist ad. Good luck!
