Whole bunch of names already on the list that dont belong when the talk is about greatest.

Most of you have no idea what you're talking about imho

Yeah, some mentioned have terrible resale value even.
Explain that.

I guess there's technically only one greatest of anything and it's very subjective when it comes to artistry and craftsmanship. Mobley may not be the greatest ever, but he's a great cue maker. So I know you're not talking to me.

Stick to the list. Other mentions are very biased. The hall of fame of cuemakers is the best peer reviewed list out there.

Well it is too late to buy a Libra cue.

Jack Potter designed those beauties and they are hard to find.

But the good news is Jack is making the JACKPOT CUES

He made a dozen for me Monday, 2 are lSTILL AVAILABLE and if you call me
You not only get a pretty cue for a mere $500,you get a shot
at making another huge profit like the other guys who bought Libra made

I hate to brag about Jack,he is the same guy who put me in right field
and left that hot dog at short stop not long ago

But you do need to call if you want the last chance of your life time
to HIT THE JACKPOT

Pay to the Lord Joey, maybe he will help you grow a few inches in height so you can shop in the Men's Department.

I'm 5"9" 160 lbs. and wear a 30-30 pants and large shirt .
Lose some weight so you don't have to shop at the obese section.

The topic is about cue makers . Not some local myth who shot with whatever .

Great cue maker . And a hell of a player.
He did sell his mill and panto to Judd.
Judd and Trudy did wonders with those mill and panto.

Maybe I'm different, but I judge cues on how they play, not on who made them, how much they cost, or what they look like.

With that being said, there are some cue makers who make cues that pretty much any player will pick up and say it plays damn good. That is not the case with the cues put out by some of the more well-known makers. They are more well-known for their "artistry" and "designs". That is all and well for some people, but not for me.

Every cue maker will have their groupies, but more than likely those groupies are people who own one of their cues and aren't going to admit that it doesn't play well, even if it does. They are going to say it "hits a ton".

Willie Mosconi could have played with the fanciest cue in the world, made by any maker in the world, yet he normally played with a no-frills simple Rambo, made with a production Titlist blank. What does that say?

I think he worried more about the "playability" of the cue than the "artistry" of it.

I have had numerous cues and still have 10, or so, and I've never sold a cue for less than what I paid for it. Most of my cues are worth several times what I paid for them, but I didn't buy them to make money. I bought them to play with them.

I'd like to try some shafts from different top makers on the butts I already have, but I'm not interested in buying any of their cues. I'm convinced that the shaft/taper/ferrule/tip has way more to do with the performance of the cue than the butt does.

I remember being in N.J. in 1979 and a friend of mine said he was getting a new Szamboti cue for $360.
I said who is that and $360 for a cue are you nuts?
I was playing with a $30 Viking.

I bet today that $30 Viking would bring 10 times what you gave for it.

Ron Haley - Arkansas-DEFINITELY an awesome craftsman and He and his wife-

both Really special people.

Andy & Vicki Gilbert also produce some really nice one of a kind cues too.

Ernie from Gina cues- Still at it-

Building MONSTER CUES TOO :)

Billy Schick sure has come a long way-

Thinking he just making one-off cues these days-

Tony Black Boar- MASTERPIECE SUPERB CUES COMING FROM THAT SHOP:wink:

So see I’m in the boat of I like certain peoples work. Schick is one. I have two titlist and I want someone special to do one of them for me when I retire. 15 years from now so I have a super old cue that someone comes across it and is amazed. Resale has never worked for me but that is not a concern. I have learned. No cue has ever made me play better. I will say I have cues that I look at when I’m about to pick it up to shoot with and I’m like. Damn that thing is pretty. I contacted schick. Never heard back. I may he contacted the wrong way.
