It was a much better forum when it was more pool oriented.

You have to have very thick skin to stay the course around here, but I feel it's worth finding a way to deal with the inevitable abuse that is no longer policed by the moderators with either diligence or consistency.
Cocobolo literally attacked me for suggesting that wearing a mask would make pool safer. In his mind, that was a liberal political statement. He's the single biggest offender of what he is complaining about.

Here is a proposal about pool tables from the NRA

National Restaurant Association

They propose to discontinue shared use entertainment

pool tables is listed

I haven't heard of any pool room reporting a covid outbreak more severe than rich people partying with out of town entertainment.

How is discontinuing a pool room saving anyone?

"Dont shoot the messenger" argue among yourselves, its just a message

any legal people from the pool community know about the following proposal?

proposals are different by state, but closing a pool hall for no reason....

You said that right. Example: Glen Hancock Thread.

I know Glen Hancock and trust me there was a lot more to that attack than anyone here will ever know.

What is distressing is nothing except for what was offered from someones mouth was taken into account.

The site shouldn't allow such things which are unaccounted ad hominum attacks.

At what point do rules kick in? Attack speech is not protected speech. It is Domestic Terrorism.

I agree with you.. itís not what it used to be. Itís like all Internet forums itís turns into trolls who say nasty things to people they never would if they were face to face.

Any pro player who shows up here and tryís to give advice get attacked to the point they say the hell with it... why bother and they disappear.

Which Glen Hancock thread? Are you talking about the one where he stole some guys rails and $1500? Glen had his chance to defend himself and heís never been shy about doing just that, so I took his unusual silence as a sign of guilt. Still do. While some of the replies were obviously over the top and mean spirited the post was needed and deserved. Itís just like when a member has an issue with a crook selling cues, itís their option to warn the board. Right?

Anyone else agree?

Or am I alone on my thinking.

So I am guessing that all or most of your 32,019 posts are cue sport related????

Pretty funny that you chose to post a non pool related thread in the one thread dedicated to only pool related topics,,,,,,,, but that point has been made by now.

Now, go back to NPR and continue your domestic terrorism activities with the other children.

What's really funny is almost all his posts have little-to-nothing to do with the thread itself. He sees one word and it just sets off some bizarre stream of thought. Just recently someone asked about the diamonds on a pool table and ol Loco, seeing the word 'diamond', went off on some tangent about Diamond tables. Does it all the time.

Not necessarily. You're assuming one is telling the truth and the worst of someone that's noted nationally as being one of the best Diamond Mechanics in the country. He's proven himself as a table mechanic, helped Diamond develop products and wouldn't have gotten where he is by screwing people over to start with. Accusations are loaded guns. Glen chose not to reply as an answer to his clients protest that was private before and kept it between them. It should have stayed between them to start with. The public display was a pressure tactic. It's easy to rush to judgement in the face of accusations and its not always right. Glen didn't owe anyone here an explanation and I'm sure that's cost him business but it was his choice. People here want the drama of the attacks and jump all over them. If there had been anything to it, the guy would have taken Glen to small claims. He didn't because its bullshit and everyone believed him. He even got free rails on account of it.

Progress is inevitable.

I do like the main forum as it's good read. It does amaze me how
a subject can take a left turn and several posts have nothing to
do with the OP posting.

I have though, seen some posts that some members ridicule right
from the start and basically shame the OP with quips that just
don't make the joke-o-meter.
In fact, why comment at all as some answers are just stupid one liners
with no helpful content at all.

I have sent private emails to the OP with my opinion, or give
them a source to get an answer. Then, I try my best to apologize
for some members reply in their post. I don't even know the member,
but, try to explain the stupid answer someone has left.

I know a person can look up posts from other members, I think some
should look up their own posts.
I'll stop here as if I continue, I may get lowered to a level that I can't
fully understand.
