Zika Virus Concerns/ Paid entries

Ok I'll start the Conversation... on the Zika Virus and the Miami area CDC travel advisory warnings issued this week.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...nfect-adult-brain-cells-not-just-fetal-cells/

I, like MANY have concerns about this issue and will not be making the trip for this event after paying for the entry due to the health concerns noted in the above articles and warning from the CDC and the WHO.

Over the past day or so I have tried to contact the Webmaster (Linda) for the Tornado Open here (http://www.thetornadoopen.com/contact-us/ ) regarding the change in travel plan and paid entry refund policy. I haven't yet heard back.

Since this issue has 'came up' SINCE the tournament was announced and the refund policy has a 8/1 deadline (http://www.thetornadoopen.com/terms-conditions/), what should be the way the event organizers to handle paid entry players (families) not willing to take the risk to go to this event?

If a refund isn't offered, my suggestion might be to offer a paid entry (credit) into a future event. Its Just a thought to lessen the burden this unforeseen 'natural disaster' has place on us all. Personally, for my group, I've had to cancel flights, car rental, hotels and a Cruise... It hasn't been a fun last 24 hours..

Sounds like " get that tourist money...F the rest. I would listen to the CDC before I'd listen to Gov Scott. Although the CDC has lied before too. Johnnyt

To follow up this was the response about having to cancel the trip.... just a sec ago from FB messager on The Tornado Open...

"Randy I don't know what the issue is with the Zika virus everyone is still going and that isn't an issue for anyone. There is no refunds ...... Sorry but it's miles & miles away from us and it's not stopping anyone from going.
Just like the Olympics in Brazil everyone still went.."

With that tornado, I mean hurricane, Zika probably got swept out to sea.

I wish it did, I am two miles from ground zero zika and storm was way north of us. :(

That's interesting. I guess the next best bet is to eat and live very healthy right now.

Your odds of winning the super lottery while being struck by lightening at the same time are better than you contracting Zika.

Four "suspected" cases out of 20M Floridians. It's just another vaccine sales pitch.

Agree but.... I'm done with St. Maarten (old favorite) for my Carribean trips. Aruba all the way. Desert. No mosquitoes! Ha

Yes, there's openings and in the men's event.
I'm all about the PPV!
Take care of that arm this year!!

So for the Pro event they will be alternating the break using the magic rack and under TX Express rules. Will it be rack your own? The 10 counts on the break?

Are there any rooms left at the event rate? I couldn't get the code to work.

Thanks.

The 10 ball doesn't count on 2 bottom corners. Yes, there's rooms available just call the 800 number and give the room code.
