the difference is the weight and the sound from the tube or shaft.
you can use normal joint and ferrule material and work with your normal epoxy.

for more questions please PM or email to sacha@volery.com

i check this post not very often. :)

Thank you, Sacha.
I just received a couple of 12.5mm tubes.
One with rigid foam (3.1oz), one with soft foam (adds .3oz to the overall weight of the tube- 3.4oz).
However, the weight is more towards the tip end of the tube. I will probably hollow this out some in order to balance the weight out.

The tubes are very smooth, straight and have a good finish. They are definitely worth a try.

Fab944,

Can you provide the wall thickness? Others I have dealt with are too thick creating a very rigid shaft. This creates squirting / deflection issues.

Thanks Ed Petersen.

on 12.5mm:

wall thickness butt end__________?
wall thickness tip end__________?
aprox wt finished 30" shaft_________?
Dia max at butt end_________?
Cost product__________?
Cost shipping to east coast USA_________?

Ed - what do you consider too thick? What do you consider optimal?

I'd be worried if the same amount of fiber was used at both ends as it was spun, making the tip end walls thicker than the butt end, just the opposite of an ideal stiffness distribution most would want? How is this addressed?

Thanks!
