I recently returned to pool after a short layoff (just under 30 years) and decided to try the new low deflection shafts. After trying several I ordered a Dominiak D3 (30 inch, 12.8mm tip). I love the way it hits. Gone is the wimpy feeling I got with the other shafts I tried. I highly recommend this shaft to anyone wanting to make a change from a standard shaft. Not to say the other brand shafts are bad. I sold my McDermott i3 to one of the players I practice with and he immediately began shooting better. However, I prefer the solid hit of the Dominiak D3 and the fact that speed control is easier since the feel is consistent from center of cue ball to almost two tips from center. I plan to order another in a slightly smaller tip size to see how that does.
