Thank you, thank you, Alton!!! It will go perfect on the cue.

Chris, thanks to you also for your knowledge and advice during this deal. I do plan to play with it and love the feel so far. Can't imagine how it will feel "in hand" cleaned up a little.

Wow...

An Ivory jointed Gus Szamboti, WOW. It's my opinion that if GOD himself would come down to Earth and wanted to hit some balls around, an ivory jointed Gus is what he would choose. Now that's my opinion, some may argue it, but it's mine.
Congratulations on your acquisition, enjoy it in good health...

Are the veneers double black/double white? It looks that way in the pics.

Can you post some close ups of the points?

I would say "Wicked" is an accurate description, too!

Awesome cue pal. Congrats!

You can definitely see that the maple is two veneers. However the black is almost impossible to tell. At the base of a couple of the points, it sure looks like two black veneers. But the rest look like one thick veneer.

That's a big hunk of historically important collectible cue there. Great piloted ivory Gus joint.

Enjoy owning that beauty.

Thanks

Kevin

What I didn't show in the pictures above is what someone had done to this cue in the past. It has a single ivory window that someone had gouged out with what looked like a nail. Unbelievable. Best we can figure is that the cue had the original owners name engraved and a subsequent owner decided to do his own repair.

You can also see how frayed the original linen wrap was. After a trip to the beauty shop, she is now good as new; including saving the original wrap!

Hi Alton,
I ran across this old forum about Scott and his Szamboti and saw the cap that you made, great work by the way. I have the same identical Szamboti that Scott has and I was wondering if I could purchase some of those exact caps. If so, I would definitely be interested.I am posting the link below in case you don't remember, it is about 4 years old.
