Question for competitive 3c players

When you are in a 3c competition what tests (if any) do you use to test the behavior of the rails of the table you are going to be playing on?

It seems to me this would be an important thing to do especially in 3c . I have noticed on the couple of carom tables (and many pool tables) I have played on, each rail on the same table will have different characteristics (e.g. rolling shot, side spin, stun shot rebound angles), which in 3c would affect shot success.

On a pool table you can remove the problem by making sure you stun the ball into the rail for one banks. Multi bank shots are much rarer but a crap shoot due to this.

I am thinking much like a pro golfer having mapped out of all the greens on the tournament courses.
