I am using a predator 314-3 shaft on my lucsaci butt, for about two months now. pretty happy with the way it hits and plays. going to try a Zan hybrid tip as soon as I can get to my guy to install the new tip. but I keep reading and hearing all about the revo 12.9 shaft.

I have never owned a carbon shaft, and have only tried two shots with a guys revo shaft at the bar. I was surprised at how light the shaft was, and the ping was kind of weird. it did not excite me in the least.

BUT, I want all the help I can get. will a revo really improve my play over my 314???

I dont mind the money if It will really help my game. any input?? thanks, judo

There will always be the next new thing

Other than the answers in red. Whenever anything new comes out people jump all over it. Sometimes its just the flavor of the month, sometimes the items stick around.

Carbon shafts will be around, and at some point down the line might take over the market.

But they wont make you play any better. The wont do anything other than lightening your wallet, and giving you pride of ownership.

The best advice to 'get better' is to stop thinking about constantly changing what you are playing with, and stick with one cue/shaft until you get to a level you are happy with.

The Revo and the 314-3 will play around the same. Major differences is that the Revo will be smooth all the time, will not be as subject to humidity and will take more of a beating. The thickness of the shaft will likely differ slightly as well.

I was playing with the 314-3 before I bought the Revo. I instantly fell in love with it. I beat a few people that I never beat before. After 6 months the placebo effect wore off and I’m back where I started from. I switched back to the 314-3 a little bit but I just like the feel of the Revo sliding thru my fingers better. I recently had a Kamui clear pad installed and it’s taken the harsh ting out of it. I haven’t got the mojo back but I’m not playing much either. I also tried the 12.0 Prime M but didn’t care for it, way more squirt.

They actually weigh around 4oz. which is really not considered light for a shaft. Balance point difference may have made it seem lighter.

If you have an chance to try one first before pulling the trigger I would suggest that. I tried the 12.4 radial revo and I was impressed. it made drawing the ball effortless for my stroke.

I agree with the others, the difference will be with how it feels on your bridge, and probably cue balance. it wont really change your game much.

Everyone I know ended up getting rid of theirs eventually. they found it brought a lot of attention since they are still relatively new, and they didn't want to carry around something that expensive and obvious. Just something else to consider.
