When I said 90 teams that mean 90 team across all games.
My math says that each week 5 players on those 90 teams pay 8 bucks to play. That is 3600 a week GROSS!!!
Not a lot of money.
Then the regional playoffs we go to the Valley Forge Casino and they have to rent the hall and the tables. Then they have to pay to send teams and individuals to Vegas
NOT A LOT OF MONEY!!!

3600 x 48 weeks = $172K...what classifies as not a lot of money to you? the LO takes in that and pays out $15K ($5k for each team)...oh, minmus the $34k that goes to National. ..$138K left over for the LO

What is the problem with a League Operator, or any other business owner from making money? I thought that was the goal ...

Great book me a flight. 5k minimum. Anytime you are ready. You and you league buds cower when there's real players around. See it time after time.

Rule Number 1, don't say something in a pool hall if you aren't willing to bet.
PM me, I got plenty of people you can post with.

Oh, yeah, the high roll special to avoid anyone taking you up on your offer. LOL

Just show up, you'll get more than a few players lined up. That's how big time gamblers work, right? Stroll in town and take down all the local yokels from Chicago. Bring your receipt for a coach flight, and your covered. What's not to like, getting free airfare and a list of players waiting and willing to play you. Damn, you're welcome.

Oh, I guess the LO does not need to rent any venues for those "City Wide" tourneys, and the other tourneys they have, and the captains playoffs, and MVP tourneys, and such. That's all free? Oh, and they don't send any money back to APA HQ ?? Tables are free? Cost to hire staff to manage it is free. Uncle Sam never taxes billiard stuff cause he use to hustle back in the day so he gives pool folks a "freebie" as well.. Nice to know.

So, yeah, cut the number in half and you might be closer to the truth. lol

Be careful of what you wish for. There are plenty of strong players thwt play leagues.

There is one in my area that a room owner offered to sponsor him in an upcoming white diamonds tournament once. I saw him put a beatdown on a 7 one time. He was up 65 to 3 in a 75-55 race when the 7 threw his cue down and quit claiming his opponent was too good to play apa. .

Then you have guys like jason kirkwood...alex olinger who were playing napa...not sure if they still do.

One thing that gets me about guys like you....always belittling players who play handicapped leagues but when you get your ass handed to you in a money match you start talkng about adjusting and needing weight. Such hypocrisy...Gettjing weight in a money match is nothng but a handicap .

Should be a better match as well. I know my ACS state champs play better than Lou and JB, no offense to either of them, but they won open and masters ACS state tourney in IL. They can play a little, and they play APA as well :) Oh, even better, and they LOVE to gamble... LOVE it.

Now, if the other guy, SBC, plays half as good as he talks in AZB, it should be a fun match to watch :)

Your math is fugged again.

Remember table rental, room rental, oh and good old taxes.

Paying for single qualifiers, doubles, masters, womens, captain tourny for vegas too.

I make more money working, then this LO grosses. The difference is the LO can grow their business develop new markets in their francise area, grow new teams, and if they do well, they become successful.

If you think all they do is sit on their duff, collect the money and buy a BMW well I guess maybe that is what you have seen in your experiences, fortunately I have not. This is not to say that I haven't had my disagreements with league operators, but I realize it is their business to run they way they see fit.

Lee Tiana built one of the largest APA franchises in the country, a couple of years ago I believe he sold it for about 3 million. He started with nothing, and worked his azz off to grow his league.

You called me out. You got a crew of APA guys who will bust me so pool 5 k...
I can post with Patrick Obrien in an hour....well regarded here.
I play anybody I don't know at SBE 13 hours a day. They beat me I quit and play the next guy. Real players who all been watching this old guy own a table 3 to 4 days at a time. I'm not hiding from anybody. Done the same at DCC.

Last SBE I played 500 to 1000 a set giving a game to a solid bar table player 3 days for 10 to 13 hours a day. Had Roberto Gomez and several other players watching me.

So don't think your candy ass calling me out means squat. I will play every APA 7 you can find....you won't like it. Post your money and I am there.

If you are running a tax paying business and have expenses than the NET is likely only 40% of the gross.

Your not allowed to have a successful business in pool .. it all has to goto the players. If you go in the ot section you’ll see how many liberal/socialist blood suckers that are actually on this forum and it will all make sense lol

Hate for Paul Newman? Where did you pull that out of? I think it is one of the best classics ever made. I made a joke... like when Ron White said bouncers jerk off when watching Roadhouse.

And you say" you come off like a pompous bastard and I don't think that helps your case. Berating grown ass men for how they spend their leisure time". Isnt that what SBC has been doing this whole thread?

And you cannot deny that gambling, including hustling, IS the reason pool players have a bad rap. I would like to change that. If I ever hit the lottery, I assure you the school pool will happen.

Also... re read my previous post. Where did I mention pro sports? Only the Mosconi cup was mentioned and it was meant to point out the missing team cooperation.
Fair enough. I'm glad you were joking about the movie. I was just trying to make a point that you can be a gambler without being an asshole. With the way the thread ended up going you may have a point about some of us, and I could have picked a better horse to defend.... Sigh

Crawl back under your bridge, troll.
Now to add something positive. The APA does contribute to support pro pool. If you all recall, the APA was a major contributor to last year's Mosconi Cup. And that's just one example.

Major advertiser...to what avail? They have nothing to do with pro pool. Which pro do they sponsor?

Buttplay, you got one of those family trees that looks like a telephone pole...no branches.

I NEVER said advertiser. You also have a reading comprehension problem. Watch (listen) the opening credits on youtube, and look at the patches on the shirts. The APA was a sponsor of the 2018 MC team USA. And more then once.

https://poolplayers.com/apa-to-sponsor-team-usa-in-the-mosconi-cup
Oct 26, 2018 · Oct 26, 2018 | APA National News APA is once again proud to sponsor Team USA in this year’s Mosconi Cup. It’s been nearly a decade since Team USA hoisted the Cup in victory. If they’re to do it this …

Now, arsewipe, dry up and blow away. Oh, and take that family tree you mentioned and shove it in the same body cavity your head is in. I'm sure both will fit.
