" Not only does the China Open become the first ever event outside the UK to have a total prize fund of over £1m next week, but we also have the annual sub-plot whereby the final seedings for The World Championship are decided over in Beijing, including of course, the 16 seeded players for The Crucible. So here are the current top 5:

1 Mark Selby ------ 1,420,275
2 Ronnie O'Sullivan 895,250
3 Judd Trump ----- 724,750
4 Ding Junhui ----- 667,525
5 John Higgins ----- 614,525

The top prize is 225,000 at the China Open, so no one is going to displace Selby even if he loses points from a previous China Open. Ronnie is very likely to hold onto second. After that it could be a very big deal for people down the list.

Impressive numbers , those stat's if you add them up together would be a nice little earner in anybody's bank account but the question is , on that list of top 5 are we looking at the name of the 2018 World Snooker Champion ?

So what if the future 'World Champion' never qualified for this event , pretty livid with his form this season so far , stop - start , magic one minute nothing to see the next so on that list it can only be the name of Judd Trump .

No travel problems , potential food poisoning eating foreign food problems , just hours and hours locked away in a dark room practising and thinking , I'm gonna show them all .

Maybe the next time i'm walking past 'Da Bookie' shop I'll have a £1 E/W punt on Judd , who knows.....:p:D:thumbup:

A two bob bit's worth.....

Selby and O'Sullivan seem to be getting a warm-up round (along with some others). Do they throw lambs to the lions on purpose?

Hi Bob !

Two quid doesn't buy a lot here nowaday's for example , a few weeks ago in the heavy snow Tesco had shut early so I went into the Jet garage and asked how much was a jug of milk and they said £2 so I shook my head and said you got to be joking me , I think I'll wait until Tesco open's back up because that £2 could be a punt in Da Bookie's that returns more value than a jug of milk from the Jet garage . So every penny saved is a penny gained and the next time I pass Da Bookie I might well dash in for an E/W bet at the 'Worlds'.....

However this is the China Open event and the question asked is ," Do they throw lambs to the lions on purpose? " so you've got to stop and think , what do the tournament host's want and what would they like to see ? Well they pay the money so they want to see as many top named stars go as far as possible in the tournament , what's a few lambs worth to them ?

That's my two bob's worth opinion and we move on.....

Look who just walked in the door folk's , yep the one and only Sporting Life snooker tipster Richard Mann who's tips so far have proved to be no better than their previous expert tipster Simon Crawford , remember him ? :p:confused::D

Got to remember this event is in China so no idea if you set the clock's forward's or backwards but it's like the boxing and pretty soon somebody somewhere will post the video's to Youtube .

China Open: Ronnie O'Sullivan loses 6-2 to Elliott Slessor despite maximum 147 break

Ronnie O’Sullivan crashes out of the China Open despite 147 break :

Ronnie O'Sullivan knocked out of China Open after making maximum 147 :

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/snooker/43631988

Judging by the facial expressions , table mannerism etc it looked like Ronnie didn't want to be there in the first place but he did leave the Chinese fans a 147 maximum break to enjoy .

Strange table conditions , hard to recall the last match both players made a jump shot going for the Black ball off the spot but well played Elliott Slessor as that win should pay for the air flight's and hotel fee's !;)

Impressive 147 from Ronnie but it came at a cost and the favourite is out of the tournament so what does 'Da Bookie' make of this and who got chalked up as the new favourite ?

Top 5 .

China Open Winner
John Higgins
9/2
Mark Selby
5/1
Neil Robertson
8/1
Mark Williams
9/1
Ding Junhui
10/1

Hi Bob !

I sneaked into 'Da Bookie's' , Ladbrokes , Judd Trump @ 8/1 for a £1 E/W was the quote for the 'Worlds' so let's hope he's in the practice room , cuttting out those reckless shots !:eek::wink::grin-square:

Hi Bob !

Is that number 14 for him?

Yes Bob , the marker bead moved up one more time to 14 maximums for Ronnie O'Sullivan in tournament play .

So I read the headlines and put the match up on Youtube and sat back waiting on the 147 maximum frame and when it happened it was perfection .

Having said that , that's got to be the worst Ronnie has played for years . The balls are skidding all over the place on this table set up and I'm thinking is that green baize made out of ice ? I'm glad I never had a bet on this tournament !:wink::thumbup:
