Nice cues so far in this thread, should be moved to the Cue and Case Gallery though.

Here is my current player, a Hagan with macassar ebony and koa points. The other is my old Coker with gaboon ebony and bocote points. Wish I hadn't sold that thing.

Here's a Jim Pierce I bought off of here a while back. The wrap was changed to a white and green spec linen wrap.

Here is an ebony shaft. Other cues pictured are ebony Davis blank converted by Jacoby, and ebony into BEM sneaky by Jacoby.

Pardon the rookie question, but would an ebony shaft play very well at all? Seems like it would be incredibly heavy and dense, throwing off the weight and feel of the cue quite a bit.

Note: It looks absolutely phenomenal!

another Joey

my Joey, brilliant player, among the best I have ever played with

uncored ebony forearm, and the PH handle helps keep the weight and balance nicely, comes at 19.8 and 20 depending on shafts.

This is a Bob Frey custom cue he made for me in 2007.
Everything black is ebony ( except the leather wrap ) , everything white is ivory.
It was made to be played with, and I do, for all games.
Plays great at 18.6 oz.
Bob is a friend and a great custom cue maker.

In 2007, it cost $2300 with 2 shafts with ivory ferrules.
In keeping with the black/white format of the cue, I had the 3/8 10 pin black oxidized,
so from either end its black-white-black-white, etc.
Its a great playing cue.
Thanks

I wound up with it in trade and didn't have a butt with that pin so I probably hit less than half a dozen balls with it. Surprisingly wasn't too bad. I think the guy had it made for a break shaft but don't know if it ever saw much use. I sold it to a guy in the FS section.

My Ariel Carmeli with all the ring work and some high and low points and snakewood for a rather handsome and pleasing contrast.
