Latin America with opportunity to send Biggest Contingent Ever to Predator International 10-Ball Championship

San Juan,Puerto Rico- Dragon Promotions has alotted 12 spots for players from America's Southern continent this year for the upcoming Predator International 10-Ball Championship in Las Vegas at the Riviera Hotel & Casino during the BCA Pool Leagues National 8-Ball Championships May 12-17,2008. 96 Players will be vying for the top prize of $17,000.

The Caribbean Billiards Union will be selecting and sending the very best players from all over the Caribbean, Central and South America including Peru, Venezuela, Argentina, Guatemala, Aruba, Netherland Antilles, Puerto Rico and more. Last year only four players represented Latin America at the Predator event and only 3 Latin American players were able to participate in international events such as the World 9-Ball Championship.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for Latin American and Caribbean players to showcase their talent and also get valuable experience. The Predator International 10-Ball Championships is one of the world's most prestigious events. We've never had the opportunity to send so many of our players and so this is a great milestone for Latin America pool." says Harold Acosta - President Caribbean Billiards Union & Puerto Rican Billiard Federation.

Acosta will also be producing the Puerto Rico 9-Ball Classic which will feature all the top talents of Southern Americas. The top 6 finishers will receive one of the 12 invites to the Predator International Championship in Las Vegas.

JAM, our intentions have always been to provide opportunities, not only to the Puerto Rican Players but to all Latin American and Caribbean Players.

So far, some of our Puerto Rican, Caribbean, and Latin American Players have had the opportunity to play against Tony Robles, Frankie Hernandez, Flaco Rodriguez, Robb Saez, Corey Deuel, Gabe Owen, Johnny Archer, John Schmidt, obviously with assistance of local Puerto Rican Sponsors and World Class Sponsors like Simonis, Aramith, and now the Predator Group. The Puerto Rican Billiard Federation is extremely grateful to the Pro Players, and Sponsors since our creation in 2003.

Puerto Rico has now joined with Aruba, Curacao, Dominican Republic, and St. Kitts and Nevis, creating a Special Group named the Caribbean Billiards Union (Unity in Pool within the Caribbean) to provide more opportunities, not only to the Caribbean but to all Central and South America without having to travel to Europe, Asia, or the U.S to face some of the mentioned Pro's.

There are some excellent players in Latin America, unknown to the World, without true opportunities to prove their skills. The CBU believes we could be a bridge to those players and countries in having access to better tournaments, and World Class Players; one step at a time.

It has been hard work but gratifying to know that the opportunities are coming. It is obvious here that Charlie Williams and Dragon Promotions have stepped up to the plate and are providing us with the opportunities we were seeking. We hope to continue our relationship with Dragon Promotions and some day have a true "Big Event" in comparison with the ones being held around the World.
