Food Recommendations

Every year my group always brings some lunchmeat etc to try to save some money on food because the food at the hotel can be pricey even though we usually end up eating there once or twice. This year I was thinking about making the drive in to Louisville for one or 2 nights to eat at an actual non hotel/casino restaurant. Does anyone know of any place that is good, non-chain, and not an incredibly long drive from the hotel?
