Pool rooms (not bars) in the Miami/Broward area

I'm looking for a poolhall in the Miami area (within 10-15 miles), preferably that opens at noon on weekends, in order to do a lesson next weekend. The Play Pool app does not discern between bars and poolrooms, and somebody here will have a much better idea of where to go. Can somebody here give me a few options? Thanks in advance...

Just to clarify, my student lives in S. Miami, but is willing to drive to meet me at a room that will fit our needs. For me it doesn't matter, but I'd prefer to keep his travel time at 30 minutes or less. Thanks again, in advance. :D

You could try the Gold Crown on Hollywood blvd in Hollywood. Haven't been there is a long time but it is usually quiet and people leave you alone.

Here is another place. I don't like it but you may

Hi Scott,

You can look online for more info about any of these South Miami poolrooms. I'm pretty sure they're all open at noon on the weekends. Listed in no particular order:

1- "New Wave Billiards" 1403 Southwest 107th Avenue Miami, FL 33174-2527 - (305) 220-4790
They've also got about a half dozen heated billiard tables. It is across the street from FIU, and is "Best for the college-aged crowd."

2- "Doral Billiards" 7800 Northwest 25th Street, Doral, FL 33122 (305) 592-8486
They've got a ton of Brunswick Metros and about a half dozen heated Chevillotte billard tables. Their crowd is a touch older than New Wave's. It is the "Best Sports Bar/Pool room."

3- "SharpShooters," 7200 Southwest 117th Avenue, Miami, FL‎ - (305) 596-0588 They probably have the best tables overall (Gold Crowns), and is the first one I'd consider a "pool room" where you're liable to find some action. They've got great specials from noon til 5, and another happy hour special from 5-8.

The ChalkySticks App lets you discern between bars/restaurants, hotels, and pool halls.

A lot of places have photos (which means I've personally looked into them). When you tap into the Places section, there's a filter icon up on the top right that should show a menu you allowing to filter the type of place.

Definitely Greg! It's really a smooth hit, yet can deliver an accurate break, at high speed! Tell you what, I'm here in FL for the next couple weeks. Why don't you fly me up (and back) for a couple of days, and you guys can play with it as much as you want!

Thanks to everybody! I know one of these rooms will serve our purpose perfectly. BTW, if anyone else in the S. FL area is interested, I have Friday 6/3, Sunday 6/5 or Monday 6/6 available. PM me here if you're interested.

Scott, there is a great little hall in Ft. Lauderdale called Corner Pockets. I play out of there. What are your hourly rates? Let me know by pm. Thanks.

20 years ago New Wave had a metal detector at the entrance. College AGED? I guess i cant disagree with that.

Scott,

Are you using the Revo shaft to break with? I was thinking about trying to break with it, but little concerned if it would hold up. Revo is a great shaft!

Thanks and Aloha

New Wave is non-smoking now. I think Sharpshooter's is non-smoking until 5 (or maybe all the time now).
If you make it down this way I'd love to check out that Revo shaft.

ElBeau...I'll be at Sharpshooters from noon until 6 on Saturday. Stop by, introduce yourself and I'll let you shoot with it as long as you want!
