Show respect on both sides...period.

Joshua first celebrated with his teammates, that was not ok and a little bit imprudent but I think he did it not on purpose. But that Dennis refused the handshake was not ok, too. That was a little bit to thin-skinned.

I couldn't tell you the difference between a Revo shaft and a turd - hell, there may be no difference.

Commentators aren't there to talk about equipment and why should they know what it looks like??? Just because the people on here run out to buy every new gadget that comes along, others don't. Nothing wrong with either side, and that's what keeps $$$ coming into pool, but don't expect it.

The other thing to remember is that there are no Professional commentators that do this every weekend like baseball, basketball, etc. it's not their fault that there isn't a pro tour or that it doesn't pay enough to sit at home and learn all this stuff that could come in handy.

ON THE OTHER SIDE

Personally I think every player should fill out a questionnaire about themselves, their equipment, and their sponsors. The sponsors could attach a little info about their product and it could be another thing to talk about during ANY match - if this became standard, I feel that all streams would be a better product. Let's face it, during or after every stream, somebody asks what about xxxxx's new cue, or what about those balls, the chalk on the table, and on and on.

I've reached my limit for writing lol

I just watched yesterdays matches on youtube and I have to say the overall standard was better the last years. Many mistakes and nervous shots on both teams on day one.

Ralf was a surprise to me. Very solid, focused and with a great touch, a rawmodel for every billiard player.
Filler is a great player, but even as a European fan, I think his post nine celebrations are kind of annoying.

On the US side I have to say, that Hatch played a very good match against Filler, but coming to one of the biggest events in pool with chewing gum, which made him look like a cow, is quite unprofessional.
SVB`s singles match was really good too, although Shaw plays a bit too casual in my eyes.

Anyway, I`m looking forward to today's matches. 4:1 is a good lead for Europe, but it is not over yet and I wouldn` t be surprised if USA can close the gap tonight.

Compare Dennis with baseball players who are disgusting - they spit and grab themselves the entire game. Does it really seem that bad now? I mean, those guys make millions and are complete pigs, I can't even stand to watch it

Wait...do what other successful sports do? Crazy talk.

The players should have bios available to the commentators that include:

-When they started playing cuesports
-Mentors
-Influences
-Name and location of their home room
-Biggest tourney win (Personal)
-First win
-Equipment (I guess, many people seem to care)

Oh, whether they are right or left hand dominant.

.... one of the biggest events in pool QUOTE]

I think this event is similar to a circus, or maybe professional wrestling with the excessive celebrations, loud fans that have to be quieted down often and the entrance with escorts before each match. I do not believe the matches are rigged like wrestling, just the hoopla is similar.

And the race is only 5 games.

Yet, I still watch because it is free. Was nice to see Shane's grandfather in attendance before the last match.

My assessment of Day One. Europe leads 4-1 and USA had a legitimate chance to win all four matches they lost. Skyler looked in a funk all day, lacking the fire he had in his eyes in past MC. Not sure what's going on with him. Hopefully, he'll snap out of it today.

Regarding Filler's shaft. We work from television monitors and I could only see he had a dark shaft on camera. My first thought was he was using an Ash shaft which almost all the snooker players use. After the matches I got a closer look and realized it was a carbon fiber composite made by Predator. He is the first player I've seen using one in the MC. Please don't crucify me for this mistake. :)

I think yesterday could've easily ended 3-2. Maybe even 3-2 USA.......
I'm predicting a big day for USA today!!!
Let's take the lead!

Isn't Billy Thorpe using a Revo, too?

I think you are doing a great job and this years event is better than last year.

I've seen some really nice play by both teams.

And if that was my 20 year old son celebrating after a win, I'd be so proud.

I’m surprised how many times the boom camera pans a shadow back and forth across the cue ball as a player is down on a shot stroking. I’ve seen some misses coincide with it.

Well the first match has been USA getting every roll. Up Hatch/Billy up 3-0.

If ESPN3 is behind and this info is useless let me know.
