Challenge Match Videos?

Anyone have links to any type of carom challenge matches with modified rule sets, or rare types of games? For example, 3 cushion with bank shots only (must hit cushion first), that Korean game with a black ball I've heard rumors of, etc.

I enjoyed watching the Vietnamese 5 ball video posted a few weeks ago.

It might be a little 'odder' than you are looking for, but the Italian 5- pin game is pretty interesting to watch

Hey Rich,

To me, this 5 pin game is the strangest of all billiard games. I have seen 5 pin videos many times and I still can't get why people would play this game over all of the other variations that exist. Go figure!

Have you ever tried it? I bought a set of pins in Bordeax a while back, and I got a couple of the guys to try it with me. I think it would have been better if we had someone who knew the game there, to show us the ropes. And clarify some confusion we had with the rules. Definitely not a threat to 3C in our neck of the woods.

5 pins is a very strange game, where you'll find some kick shot masters , because it's a game for defensive profiles of players .
some 2 rails kick shots are specific to this game -for that they are 2 rails kick shot systems with reverse english or not-

be carefull when you travel in Italy : some players are very, very, very strong ....It's extremely popular in Italy, with a professonnal league of something like 60 players...

For the record, it's played with very heavy cues , from 640g to >750g, and they use composite shafts for a while , >15 years ... ( that's why i smile when i read all the "Revo revolution" threads ;-) )

this game is worth a try but to appreciate it you need to be initiated by a "real" 5 pins player/specialist , else it can appear less interesting that the usual carom games. When your OB is always masked by the casle (the 5 pins) and/or by the red , they you begin to learn the 5 pins game following the right way :)
