Barry Hawkins 1 V 7 Marco Fu .

The world of sport.....

Funny old game is Snooker & this game reminds me of the Darts when players turned up & knocked out Phil Taylor but just never turned up for the next gig .

So Barry knocked out Ronnie but where is he in this match ?

Sitting in his chair doing nothing .

Some were not surprised. :p

Big guns in Second Round show-down

The one that interests me is Marco Fu.
Tends to be a streaky player. but when he is on he can beat anyone.
In the Ruhr Open he beat Higgins 4 - 0 as in ZERO - Higgins didn't score a point.
For a long time Fu and O'Sullivan split their matches evenly, but O'Sullivan has had the best of it recently.

Now I can sit back and await the impending train wreck - Fu has only won two ranking tournaments.

Tenth player in history to have produced more than 300 competitive centuries

Ranked as No. 6 in the all time centuries list

Four 147s

Watch out America lol !

Quote :

After he moves on from the frustration of losing in the second round for the first time since 2009, O’Sullivan is planning a trip to America over the summer months to film a documentary on the game of pool.

“I’m looking forward to a few more exhibitions, a trip to Romania, a bit of holiday time and a nice three-week trip across America,” he said.

“I’m doing a travel log programme. I’m going to New York, Chicago, Memphis and New Orleans. It is a bit about pool and local pool players are going to show us around the area.

“We’re going to have fun, bounce around America and have a bit of a laugh.”

Probably not as weird as Judd Trump wearing a badge for freaking BURGER KING. You'd think someone like Stephen Lee or Robert Milkins would find a sponsor like that :p:p

I've had it with these betting companies sponsoring tournaments. We've had PUKKA PIES UK Championship before, so why not have the 2017 BURGER KING World Snooker Championship! Make it happen Hearn!

Pukka pies sponsored the 2009 UK Championship
Ding Junhui won his weight in Pukka Pies.

Probably a better prize than the Lada won by Steve Davis for the first televised 147

A bizarre twist of fate...Davis runs the first televised maximum on John Spencer..
...the man who could've had the first, three years earlier....
....but the cameras were shut off for a short time. :frown:

Mario Morra had a chance at this Lada also...not sure which year....
...15 blacks to the colours....got a horrible kick on the brown.

Underclocked

Game 22 in the match between Hawkins and Fu was either the best or the worst frame I've ever enjoyed.

Down to 4

So it is now down to 4
13:00 BST 28 April (Thu)
Ding Junhui (Chn) v Alan McManus (Sco) (H2H 3:1)

19:00 BST 28 April (Thu)
Mark Selby (Eng) v Marco Fu (HK) (H2H 11:4)

2 qualifiers (Ding and McManus) in semis.
Selby is overwhelming favorite over Fu with H2H in his favor 11:4 while Ding is favorite over McManus
A Mark Selby v Ding final is inevitable.and this is looking like Ding's year. His coach, Terry Griffiths won it as a qualifier so Ding seems destined to win it as a qualifier also
1st semi starts about 14 hours from now 1pm BST (Thu) 28 April

Game 22 in the match between Hawkins and Fu was either the best or the worst frame I've ever enjoyed.

Incredible comeback by Hawkins to almost steal the match after Fu led 9-1 at one stage :)

Just curious if anyone knows the pre tournament odds on McManus winning ?

I thought it was higher but they say Alan was 300/1 .
