you tube T.V. - 06-11-2019, 10:37 AM

Anyone have this service?
I've been thinking about dumping Direct T.V. at $101 a month for this at $50 a month.

I don't have the youtube TV service but I do watch a lot of youtube videos through my TV. In addition I recently switched from Comcast Cable to Direct TV in order to lower my costs. My Direct TV is around 84 dollars a month. I am wondering if you could choose a lesser package in order to lower your Direct TV costs. Call them and see.

I am also curious to hear what others have to say about the youtube TV service.

I have the douche network @ 77 a month and even though I don't watch 90% of the channels not once not ever if I downgrade at all I lose some of what I do like. Pac 12 network, Root sports northwest mainly.

It boggles my mind how much mindless drivel is offered

The main thing that keeps me going with them is the DVR box

Without the ability to record shows or delay watching them to eliminate the commercials all programming becomes unwatchable. I just don't have that many more minutes available in my life.

Not sure how youtube TV works but if it forces advertisements onto my screen it is too expensive at free.

I'm also curious to know the details.

YouTube is part of the evil Google world, though.

I use the evil Comcast/Xfinity services myself.

The ability to time-shift is important to me also.

For some reason I was checking it out, and there are DVR types that can record either OTA signals or streaming services (not both, SFAIK, though). There are specialty TIVOs, and maybe others as well.

all i know at this point is there is 70 channels and unlimited recording of shows.
also there can be 6 users.
my main concern is the picture quality.
there is no sense for me to have a newer 4K T.V. and switch to a service that has worse picture quality then direct T.V which is pretty good.
i'm going to try the free offer and see.

If YT TV gives you unlimited recording that is sounding pretty good.

I doubt you'll find much 4k content, because there just isn't much SFAIK. However, my Sony and maybe your 4k set does a great job upscaling 1080 to near-4k.

Is Direct TV mostly 4k or mostly 1080 HD?

I don't have any service I pay for from YT but I watch a lot of stuff off it.

Nope, don't need or want one. All it does is bring in the lib agenda to my screen.

I like YT, because I watch stuff that is real, that pertains to my interests.

First I noticed so many movies had left wing agenda, then I noticed weekly tv shows had the same thing going on and so I just played more pool. I don't care if I ever watch a network comedy again or any other type of show. It's total garbage and unreal.

I cut network, ppv, etc, tv off about 10 years ago.

I have this, Comcast and directv. And I don’t watch tv. . It’s for people who rent my furnished apts. Because of having YouTubetv my wife started watching tv a little. We like it much better than the others. Our guests usually haven’t tried it before and they like it too. You can add shows to your library and they’ll record them for you. You also can watch things on demand it it’s available.

6 users but only 3 at a time. Subscription is now 54.99/month.

I subscribed and after much hassle finally got to the home screen.
when i tried to watch a local channel it said to download an app to my phone and verify my location.
Something called youtube verify?
I just couldn't figure this out and said screw it,too complicated.
So i canceled it.
But i still get a 5 day free trial that i cant use.
Why do they make these things such a hassle?

Get a chromecast, some ad blockers("Ublock origin", and "AdGuard AdBlocker"), can watch pretty much everything you watch on direct tv for free. Drop me a message if you want a walk through.

I have a package for $20/month that streams local channels and 20 cable channels that I picked to my smart TV's and wireless devices.
For as little as I watch the brainless shit on TV these days, it's sufficient for me.

I've got a few hundred channels over satellites for no monthly cost...then some 8-9,000 channels over IPTV for Peanuts per month...
The only Problem is to find the right channel...and trying to load EPG for all of them...Forget it.

Managed to watch the Football European Championships Qualifiers Finland-game on some Arabic channel yesterday as it was not carried by any other channel I could find
