Yesterday we drove to Greensboro NC, We should be in this area at Gate City Billiards until the 11th of October, if anyone is interested in a lesson in this area for Perfect Aim contact Genomachino. Gene will also be warming up for the U.S. Open in Chesapeake VA.

Yes, but it is going to take a bit of time, I left Ohio as a skill level 5, It has been 3 1/2 weeks on the road so far and I might be a skill level 6 so far.

How are you liking life on the road so far? Is it what you thought it would be?

I am enjoying it tremendously, I have always enjoyed pool. I cannot imagine life in just 1 place I have to travel and meet new people and be in action or compete in tournaments, It feels great to win tournaments occasionally or to see Gene win them consistantly.

Gene is more than an awesome Pool teacher, He is a life coach too he has alot of experience in overcoming obstacles and I trust his judgement.

There is so much to learn that most people aren't even aware of that keep people playing at a lower level than their full potential for years or even decades people think they reached a plateau and have gotten to the point that they cannot get any better when it is untrue all they need to do is have some positive instruction and their game can skyrocket. Someone might be stuck at AA level and think thats all there is for them, when in fact in just a few simple changes to their game they can reach master or pro level in a matter of a few months after learning what Gene teaches.

Gene has already helped a lot of players and the testimonials speak volumes about what he teaches.

I'll be honest. I don't always consciously think about Perfect Aim, CTE/Pro 1 or any other aiming system when I am playing but miss a ball and I am all over it, getting myself back on line with the shot.

Another thing, when I just walk into a pool room and hit my first few balls, I will might miss a couple of balls at first and will immediately go into manually aligning myself to the shot (aiming with an aiming system) using Perfect Aim or CTE/Pro1.

Some people play perfectly well without any aiming system and that's great but some of us are mere mortals and need a little edge. :D

Went to Gate City Billiards, nice place in a nice part of town. My sister lives in this part of the country and I am hoping she will come down to meet up with me sometime this week.

Gene gave a few free mini lessons today and even booked a lesson for tomorrow at Gate City. Now I am getting the urge to do some gambling and we are going to head over to the Colliseum in Greensboro. I heard there is mostly 1 hole there but hopefully I can get a rotation game.

Gene is debating on playing in Raleigh this weekend at the $5000 added tournament and I am trying to convince him to do that but we are exactly 1 hour and 17 mins away from Brass Tap Billiards and Gene doesn't like the distance for cost and time sake. I believe he will choose to skip the tournament and just focus on lessons while we are in Greensboro but he needs to get into some action or practice a lot too because we are paying $500 to get him into the U.S. Open in less than 2 weeks.

The qualifier in Greensboro already took place over the weekend so it was my mistake to come to this location for the tournament I had the date mixed up.

What is a sl5? APA 5, or some other rating scale?

From their website, FYI:

"The U.S.Open Entry is $500.00 USD. $50.00 Late Fee if not paid by October 6, 2013. No Exceptions."

As Opie would say, shucks its just another commercial....

Maybe but you can DVR it if you want :D Gene and Rhea are out there trying to make it on the road doing something by playing a game that most on here enjoy. I don't have an issue with them promoting lessons because they also let us in on their adventure. If you don't like it then don't read it. I have great faith that the mods here would pull the thread if it was out of line but Gene is giving back as far as entertainment as much as he is getting from promoting his lessons. His threads are well read if nothing else.

BTW, 2 of Gate City's tables are on web cams if anyone wants to try and catch Rhea or Gene in action.

Go to www.gatecitybilliards.com and then in the left margin you'll see where to click.

Also Rhea - If you are going to Coliseum Billiards, don't go after sunset. It's REALLY rough there.

I completely agree with this. It all seems real simple until you completely break down your stroke piece by piece and see all that is involved from start to finish. Fixing one or two fundamental mistakes can easily help someone skyrocket in their ability, depending on what it is they need corrected. Add to it more confidence which in itself will make you shoot better the more confident you are.
