A LOT OF FLAME WARS COULD BE AVOIDED
if posters just answered the ops question
not how you would do it better etc
i started a thread

overall the majority of responces were constructive
BUT
some (idiots) told me thats not how they would shoot it
i didnt care how they would shoot it
ALL I WANTED TO KNOW IS WAS IT A LEGAL HIT
i think if we all just answer the question this would be a better site

It's certainly annoying when some don't fully read, dare I say, even take the time to understand the question asked, nor read all prior posts to the thread before rattling off just any ol' irellevant reply.

The problem stated by OP isn't specific to that one thread. It is common on this forum as a whole and is causing a lot of worthless arguing. I believe this issue warrants its own thread.

The correct way is to put the gin in first, then add the Emergen-C. Your pattern is off.

That is not how I would do it. I would partially fill with the gin, add the Emergen-c and the complete the gin fill. It gives a better mixture without the need for a 3rd party mixing device.

I hear you, but like the first ten response answered the question, with a couple in jest. That's a miracle to go that long on this forum.

The frustration comes when the question does not get answered. But if the question is answered, I wouldn't worry about also receiving other information. Sometimes the supplemental (extraneous / tangential) information and discussion are more interesting than the actual answer to the OP's question.

Starting a thread is kind of like tossing a beach ball from the top row of a large sports stadium. Eventually, the ball is likely to reach to the bottom, but the path is unlikely to be straight down. And exactly who gets their hands on it is not easily predicted.

Go to any computer programming forum and ask a question. 9 out of 10 replies will be either "why are you doing that" or "you shouldn't do that" followed by what they would do instead. The 10th response will be "yeah, I'm having trouble with that too."
