Aches and Pains...leg adjustment needed??

Hello everyone,
I am experiencing some shoulder pain in my bridge arm (at upper deltoid).

Is this an occurrence that is associated with an issue with stance/balance
fundamentals? It doesn't feel like I am placing a lot of weight on my
bridge arm, but that may not be the case.

Maybe it is something totally unrelated to my pool fundamentals, but I
thought I would ask.
I don't remember doing anything to my shoulder at work etc... as far as
minor injuries are concerned.

I started shooting lefty again today (I am normally a right handed
shooter) to still be able to practice my eye patterns and S-P-F timing.
The pain eases up some but doesn't totally go away.

Are there specific arm/shoulder stretches that pro pool players use to
avoid fatigue during tournament play, etc...?

Thanks for any advice.

EddySJ...As I mentioned, I saw nothing wrong with your stance, other than your cue not being as level as it could be...for which I suggested dropping your arm down lower, as opposed to stepping backwards with your rear leg and getting lower over the cue. Just standing a little differently can feel strange, but should not cause pain. :D

I didn't think that it would...
Thanks for the reply Scott.

The lesson was well worth the cost and investment. Things are going much better.
I have been able to isolate some things that i couldnt before. Things are progressing really well now. (All aches aside).

go see adoctor for your shoulder pain
a physical therapist can give you exercises /stretches appropriate for your problem
youve seen a stroke doctor (scott)
now see a shoulder doctor
i am not an instructor

I have various exercises I use for stretching form martial arts that's on my 'Billiards Inside Secrets'....circling your arms forward and backward 10 times like a windmill is what I do, but you be the judge for yourself. Tai Chi is great to look into for long term benefit.

Also I've taking Glucosamine and Chondroitin for many years and it does wonders - I taught martial arts for years and was introduced to it through my training. Here's a link to read more -

I hope this helps you, it's helped me. Aloha:thumbup:

I've had several shoulder injuries, I remember when I first started playing pool I a lot of shoulder pain to the point that I was seriously considering quitting pool, turns out that I was putting more weight than I thought against the table, I switched to a double crouch stance where I let my legs take most my weight and my bridge arm slightly bent resting against the table; as it were a miracle pain went away within a couple of days. I have not encountered many people with the same issue I've had and I'm fairly sure mine was related to previous injuries.

If you post a link to a video of you shooting I can take a look to see if your stance might be causing you some problems --- Particularly some shots taken from directly behind you that would show the position of your feet relative to the table.
