So I have payed on a brunswick gold crown table. I am wondering what version of table this is? Also wondering if anyone can tell me about how old it is?

Deleted the pics cause I have heard it is a gold crown iv from around 1998.

Thanks

Why was version 3 made for so long?

I imagine because they saw no reason to put in the effort/time/money to change it. There are many GC fans and the III was fine for them.

Eventually they came out with the IV which copied some of Diamond's improvements, such as the flatish pocket liners.

I guess since the original Diamond Pro was modeled after the GC3.
I would say Brunswick could "borrow" from Diamond all they wanted.
The pocket liners are completely flush, but the castings are not 100% flush.
The GC4 came out with the full leveling system in it 10 years before Diamond
and then they came out with their wedge system. It is nice to see companies
in fair competition. Brunswick created commercial pool and all pool tables that
have a top that comes off like the Anniversary, Centennial or Gold Crown ALL
COPIED that feature from Brunswick :)

I love my Diamonds too! :)

My question has been why was version II made for so short?

The "throwaway answer" no one liked it so no one bought it so they stopped making it. So you can have the inverse for my answer. Everyone liked it so they sold lots so they kept making it.
