How to clean Wrap??

The butt end of my stick seems to have gotten a little sticky once my hands get to sweating a little. (my shot of choice in the bars no doubt)
Nothing major, but could probably use some type of cleaning.
Question is........ Is there a way I can clean this myself without messing up the linnen wrap, or is this something I should have a professional handle.

Actually kind of what I was thinking. In fact, you caught me on the For Sale forum looking.
This is a Jerry Oliver with a 314.2. I'm kind of looking for something with a Z to try out.
What would a leather wrap run?
