Where do you draw the line? - 08-18-2019, 03:56 PM

I've heard numerous folk say they voted for Trump because he

1. Tells it like it is / speaks his mind

2. Doesn't act like a politician

3. [Supposedly] isn't influenced by others

Of course, there are other reasons as well and most of it just boils down to shared beliefs.

But if you don't care if a candidate has any political experience (I understand it's not required), then where do you draw the line?

Are you comfortable voting for anyone that meets the minimum requirements as long as you agree with their beliefs and ideals?

The Treason line is already drawn.

It needs to be turned into a noose
and properly executed here:

That's nice and all, but it doesn't make someone qualified to be the leader of our country.

The main thing was there was no opponent. Hillary was the worst possible candidate, I would have voted for anything breathing over her.

I get the whole appeal of not having a typical politician in the WH, but I do think having some political experience should be a requirement.

Perhaps even a political knowledge exam, although that might be a bit of a stretch.

The point is you have someone that was voted into the WH not by their experience or knowledge, but by what they said/promised. If he can get in on those merits, then so can anyone else that meets the minimum requirements.

So...where do you draw the line?

I agree that Hilary was a terrible choice.

But I don't believe in the idea that you have to vote for the lesser of two evils.

I'll always stick to my party, but if I don't like the person, then I'm just not going to vote.

As an example. If it comes down to Biden vs Trump.

I'm staying home next November.

We have a load of worthless politicians getting rich in D.C. with lots of "political experience". That's the swamp. "Political Experience" is one of our problems.

You seem not to understand that "minimum requirements" means the same as "requirements". If not, what would be the "maximum requirements"?

It wasn't a vote of the lesser of two evils. There was an unknown and an evil. That was the choice in 2016.
