Update:

I talked with the owner and the floors will not be ripped up for a while. They have extensive renovations including all new floors and new pin setters.

I sometimes see cues listed on AZ with "bowling alley shafts"

I don't know if it's a desirable wood to make shafts with, but the bowling alley in my town is dismantling their hard rock maple lanes. I can put you in touch with the owners if you are a cue maker who is interested.
