Herman Rambow

Inherited my dads pool cue. Chicago are here, I know it was obtained in the sixties before he went to Viet Nam. It was “relaquered” in the early nineties. Is this a Herman Rmbow and what would typical value be. Thanks in advance.

my first nice cue was a rambro,but i don't remember the pointed screw
nor that i have seen such a fancy one

I have seen some Balabushkas that look kinda like this one but my dad had insisted it was a Herman Rambow.

It is never a dream shattered. It is a dream transformed.
So it isn’t worth a small fortune monetarily speaking, OK.

Instead it is a sentimental keepsake, a pool cue memento.
This was his dad’s cue before he went to ‘Nam & came home.

Admittedly the monetary worth is small & disappoints in that respect.
But the sentiment and connection with this being his dad’s cue is huge.

Money can always be gathered again over time but treasured keepsakes of
important loved ones, especially your dad, well those are truly irreplaceable.

I’d give up any cue in my collection, even a few, if I could own a nice looking
cue that was my dad’s. Alas, pocket billiards never caught his interest. It was
later in life after dad passed that my set-dad happened & elevated my pool interests.

First, thank you everyone for all of your input. Im not worried about the value per se, I do very well even if it was 25k cue I would never sell this, hence no shattered dreams at all. Something my dad gave me and has a lot of sentimental value. Again, thanks for the all the input :) Cheers and be safe with all this Corona stuff going around.

Its a shame that more and more stories of seposed great cue finds where someone "knows" what they have, are nothing but of the tall version.... It's sad that in this case most, if not all, of the info the OP shared about the cue was just another tall story. Nice looking Adam though.
