Dear Dean I hope you changed your mind and did not quit pool still enjoying this great game;).
Finally your cue is ready and so as I won't be able to pm you the pictures I share some here.
I can assure you I did my best building it in spite of the fact there were so many things I've tried for the first time starting with the construction, the joint, some materials and tools so on. Аs usual my main concern was how the cue plays at the end. I’m glad I was in time to test the cue at the table in our pool school before the quarantine was announced and it was closed. Honestly I love the hit of this cue and I can tell for me it stands out of those cues I've tried. The big part in how the hit feels I believe is a certain construction and combination of pretty light weight tomahawk for the ferrule plus fairly hard moose horn's "vault plate" and that new UltraSkin Fire medium tip only complements the whole feel.
There is no metal except those two thin copper decorative rings above the butt cap. So the cue has its natural weight and pretty neutral balance which make it feel pretty good at least in my hands.
Instead of adding any weight bolt I decided to make that very short penolic “extension” which weighs 30 gramms. So you’ll be able to experiment playing either with its natural weight or with this thing to make it heavier. So as I'm fairly tall and my regular player is 62" I've also tested it with that maple extension which I've made also pretty light at 83 gramms and it worked terrific for me but to tell the truth when it comes to the weight & balance of this cue itself I'm happy with how it plays and feels though I'm used to play with a heavier cue.
To tell the truth after completing this cue and testing it I loved it so much that I decided to build another player for myself using the same combination of woods. That Pau Rosa wood inside as a full length core and in a handle is by far my favorite. It sounds and feels so sweet and it’s just a pleasure to work with.
I'm so greatfull to my friend Joao a musician from Portugal who helped me to get some amazing woods to work with.
The cue feels differently in hands because of its satin finish at least that is what I do like…feeling the wood.
I hope you'll be happy with how the cue plays and enjoy it as I did working on it.

Sergii.
