So now with the new rack your own until whenever rule and then a ref will rack; oh, and the most absurd "no peeking at the rack" crappolla so I can't catch you F()$$ing me, how many of you believe that matches will have "ref rack mechanics" to try and swing matches? Everyone agrees the break is the most important shot, most notably in top tier matches, this would be the way.

Please no integrity essays. Promoters are doing everything they can to bring pool to casino gambling (yes honestly innocently to grow the sport, yeah , of course it's going to be rigged to some degree, don't be silly by thinking otherwise.

So you’re saying there are no refs available with integrity?
...and if a ref’s integrity is proven to be fragile..he loses the job?

Yeah, I mentioned integrity...without it, this discussion is useless.

I trust the refs to get it right, but you're right to suggest that some will do the job poorly, whether it's intentional or not.

What sport doesn't have this issue? The baseball umpire sometimes calls a strike on a ball that a replay shows was not a strike. The football ref mistakes a fumble for an incomplete pass and whistles a play dead, denying the opposition a chance at recovering the fumble. The soccer and hockey referees sometimes mistakenly blow their whistle believing a play to be offsides, denying a scoring chance. In all of these cases, the call cannot be corrected. Sports will always be at the mercy of the officials, who can possibly have a conflict of interest, but in most sports, the officials do an outstanding job.

Officials in other sports who perform poorly, even if not dismissed form their positions, don't get to work their sport's major events. Pool can do no more than these other sports in protecting itself from officials who improperly influence results.

Finally, I am not aware of any event ever played with no peeking at the rack in which anybody but a referee was racking the balls.

Hi, thanks for being open unlike the masses who love the literal POV to perch themselves above in some ivory tower of intellect... lol!

Perhaps I just haven’t noticed it over the past decades, but, likely due and many thanks to all the streamers out there who provide more pool for us to watch than ever, recently it seems to happen often that a player is at peak performance rolling through a tourney and then suddenly can’t make a ball on the break. We’ve all had that “worm turn” but usually that’s about the rolls, not something as practiced as the break.

All I ask is that you guys keep an eye out for this and let’s bring it up again in a few months. See what you see...
