I see there was a group buy that I unfortunately missed out on. Is there anyone that got one that would be willing to give us a review? Thanks in advance.

Anyone? I would like to hear opinions as well. I too, would like to try em'. I've been a Moori S fan for years....

Thanks bob b.

Got the J tip today, I gotta say it's pretty great. It's a bit softer than the Moori medium on my Mezz, but it plays about the same. The big difference is that I have much more cue ball control with this tip than any other I've tried. I've only had about an hour to play with it so I have nothing to say about mushrooming. It machined great, holds chalk well. I have nothing bad to say about it. I'll check back in when I've used it for a while.

I'd recommend it to anyone.

Seems more predictable to me. Mostly on draw and follow shots, I don't overdo it, but I can easily get plenty when I want it. I don't know why.

How would you compare it to a Moori S (or soft)? I have used these for years...everytime I try something different, I come back!

I've only ever used Moori medium, so I can't help you there. I had some mushrooming with the J after about 20 racks. I trimmed it, now lets see if it returns. Still love the feel and predictability on draw and follow shots.

just got my moori j installed yesterday
i also put a new moori soft on another shaft to compare
i have been using moori soft and g2 softs for the past several months
the moori j is alittle harder than the moori soft to me but not by alot
i have tried moori medium and its feels softer than what i remember about that tip
it held chalk well
gripped the cue ball well
after 3 hours (2 hours 9 ball/1 hour one pocket) no mushrooming
i know i shouldnt get too much mushrooming playing one pocket....:D
i liked the sound of the tip when it hit the cue ball
i liked the feel of the tip
all in all
I LIKE IT SO FAR......

Could yo shed some light on why you changed your mind?

i wasnt sure i liked the feel of it as much on the second day

it seems alittle firmer than the moori soft
the sound when you hit the cue ball is alittle crisper
it seems to generate more power on follow shots with spin
(cue ball seems to travel alittle farther than i anticipate)
it has mushroomed alittle (so has the moori soft) requiring shaping

all in all i think its a good tip
and could easily use it on a regular basis if need be
but
i think the moori soft feels better to me but its close
could be im just not used to a firmer tip
im thinking of using the j exclusively instead of going back and forth
and making a decision down the road

i will say this
neither one will make me a champion......:(......:D

I'm pretty sure the Jewel tip actually is marketed as a Medium hardness tip. If you want to try a great soft tip,I recomend Zan Premium Soft.

actually the J has no firmness rating ie quick/slow etc to use moori's "system"
thaks for the tip (pun intended..:D) on the zan tip

Moori has released another tip called "Ruby" I'll get som in a week or two.
Installed a Moori Jewel a few days ago and it cuts nice, plays nice and holds chalk fine, gonna be interesting to see how much these tips mushrom.
