G10 refers to the material. G10 is a type of fiberglass.

Usually, yes. I have seen a few radial-profile G10 pins but 3/8x10 is by far the most common.

Is it Good? Sure, but if you think about it, any material that is able to serve its intended purpose will have shared characteristics with other materials that serve the same purpose...meaning once a g10 or brass or aluminum pin is screwed into a shaft, the user isn't going to be able to discern a difference in the materials.
The only useable difference between g10 over metals- imo- is its very low weight, but that is a feature to be used by cuemakers, not the end user.
So yeah, it is a good pin.
They can be any color really, it's just a type of plastic/resin. Add some color to the mix and you can have them be orange.
I think they are used for weight and balance more than anything specific to the material vs a metal pin but that was from reading about them years ago so my memory may be off a bit.

Lots of folks swear by them. I personally dont like them, but YMMV.

I have a different take on the G-10 pins. The first ones were ordered by Joe Gold, and were a proprietary pin for his Cognoscenti Cues. He offered the G-10 as a standard pin, but "upgraded" to a titanium pin for his higher end cues. What Joe told me is the G-10 pin joined the butt and shaft together in a way that made the cue play like a one piece cue (ideally the best possible hit). I don't know if that's true or not...but it sure felt great playing with it. When Joe's patent ran out, everybody and their brother started using G-10 pins, in many configurations. I'm having a cue built with a G-10 pin right now.

My Gulyassy cue has a G10 pin...I love it. My next cue will have one, too...someday when my wife isn't looking...
